What was the tool that you use to check how large of a player base does a game's multiplayer mode have?

I play TF2 now, but are there any others where there are actually strategic goals and strategies? I find games like counter strike to be too fast paced and not much of a theatre to fight in, all you do is to go and shoot the other team, and the game ends in 3 minutes on most maps. Games in TF2 like payload have special objectives and can take up to 30 minutes.

Yeah, there was this one that I had to download for 2 minutes, turns out they wanted to add some new models and textures in the office map of CS:S. Their amateur "programmers" screwed it up, and objects and textures keep dissapearing/reappearing as you change the angle you view them from.

From my experience these days it's the norm rather than the exception that FPS servers made some pointless/broken changes to the defualt official maps. Wasting your time and bandwidth to download them.

This is just a rant.

I'm getting pretty tired of the servers that makes you download a lot of stuff, most of that appears to be different "cool" textures on knives, or different pornographic spray paints (for counter strike). They waste a lot of bandwidth and a lot of time, and most of the time I won't even play on that server twice.

Apparently the game now uses a Weapon Drop system? So getting achievements is no longer necessary.

Does anyone know where the drop points are? Are they at random points on the map?

Rainbow Six Vegas is very satisfying to kill peops. Plus the stats keep you coming back to pad them out.clembo1990
Vegas 1 or 2? I hear that the UBI servers are always down.

With sniper (some people don't think so) you just have to get used to it. I am not saying I am Mr. Super Sniper. But I could (not every single time) hit scouts in mid jump. It is very satisfying. I was called a cheater. (funny, since I wasn't even doing that well) Because I kept picking these guys off. I think they were new to the game though. With the free weekend and all. :P

With the sniper you have to be kind of twitchy. Just quickly pop a shot off. Once you play for a while you will get used to leading. (aiming in front of the target, to where your target is GOING to be, not where they are now) Because of how fast some classes move.

I have a problem tracking them who run zigzag, or soldiers jumping and shooting rockets.

Are there any servers designed for you to gain unlocks? Like with dumb bots running around or people co-operating to give each achievements?

For TF2 in particular, and other games in general, how do you play a sniper? I find enemies jumping around very hard to shoot. So I find enemy snipers to be the easiest to snipe, because theya re stationary. How do you play snipers in FPS games?

Also, which other FPS has a mulitplayer as satisfying as TF2 or Counter Strike? I looked at a few others but their multiplayer seems to be very simple and will get old quick.

Thank you.
