TBH, I think I am going to leave the site for a month or two and come back when the grass is greener. It seems like there are just too many issues right now, and I come here to enjoy myself, not to be frustrated.

Just like a game that is released with hundreds of bugs, I will wait this one out until the next patch or 2 so to speak.

@s_h_a_d_o: That might have been it. I posted the text and it worked, but then I edited it with a URL added. It posted my edit without it pending, but then my entire post disappeared when i reloaded the page. Really annoying. They should have a system in place that warns you about posting with the included link. Some people put a lot of thought and effort into a comment, and having to retype 2-3 paragraphs is very frustrating. If it was as simple as deleting the HTTP or removing the URL entirely, I would have done that. Now I have to go and repost for a 3rd time. Gahh!!!

EDIT: OK, there is something seriously wrong here. I posted a very short comment the 3rd time, no URL, nothing profane, succinct and to the point, and again it got deleted. I think that the person might be flagging my comments and they are somehow getting deleted or something. It is very odd.

I have had 2 comments in a row come up with a yellow box in the top right hand corner with the word "Pending" in it. Then, when I reload the page after the edit time window has expired, the comment is gone. What is pending? If you make more than a certain number of comments in one article are you automatically flagged for trolling or something? My comments are nothing vulgar or anything that would warrant moderation, so I am a bit confused. I copied the text this time because I don't want to have to rethink/retype my reply to a comment again.

What gives? Oddly enough, I have been able to instantly reply (even after the pending post) in the same comment section of the same article without anything pending. It is only under one user's comment that I cannot seem to leave a reply without getting a pending notice, that ultimately doesn't post.

I finally changed my avatar but it shows up as my old avatar in the comments section for news and videos. Why is that?

Bump.

If you have the Steam Version, just use the workshop and search for the most popular mods.  It is a lot simpler to work with than some of the nexus mods.  The mods that I have enjoyed the most (aside from visual ones) are probably..

"spend dragon souls for perks" couple this with "more dragons" and "more dragon loot" You don't have to level up to gain perks this way.  Allows you to invest in more skill trees than you would be able to otherwise.

and

"left hand rings"  Why should you not be able to wear more than one ring?  Fixes that.

Anyway, there are thousands of mods.  You might just want to try one of the mod packs that are full of mods that are known to work together without conflicting.  I think this one is one of the best. You can look for other groups of mods by selecting the "collections" tab in the workshop homepage.

You will need the latest version of SKSE for some of the mods in the pack to work.  Latest here.

The mod collection I use is called "Skyrim Enhanced".  I think there are several that are called this, so look for one that has around 70 mods within.  That is a good one to start with, and you can choose which ones to install or leave out.

Commenting system is completely gone in Chrome with Adobe Flash Player 11.8.  Livefyre is working fine in IE, and Firefox.  Before the update to the flash player, Livefyre was working just fine.  Has something to do with ver 11.8.800.168.

Update

I ran Ccleaner and the commenting sytem is working again in Chrome, aside from one small detial.  None of my comment likes are showing.

[QUOTE="ferret-gamer"] What that link is saying is that once you activate the Texture Pack DLC, Steam will recognize it as part of the game, and if you unistalled and went to reinstall the game or went to install it on a different computer it would download the texture pack automatically with the rest of the game. It will not redownload itself each time you start the game. Once it is downloaded you not need to use it either, you can disable it in the options.the_bi99man

Ok, that makes more sense to me now.  I hadn't considered it becoming a part of your game permanently from computer to computer or upon a reinstall.  I knew there had to be no way they would do something that absurd, but that is just how I read it.  Good to know that it can be disabled too.  I am assuming it shows in the load order or graphics options.

I would assume it gives you a checkbox in the graphics options. I never used it though. How much VRAM does your video card have? If it's more than 1gb, I don't think you'll have any problem with the 2k textures. Also, there's the "full" and "lite" versions of the 2k textures, both available on the same page. The Lite version has textures about half the resolution of the ones in the comparison screen, but even that is still about 2x the resolution of the official HD textures.

The 470 has 1280mb. I might try the lite first just to see if I get any stuttering or FPS drops. If everything is smooth sailing, I might bump it to full.

It wouldn't make any sense for them to make you re-download it every time.  But seriously, copy and paste the 1st link to your browser and read the section under BUGS.  It incinuates that it re-downloads which sounds like it was already downloaded once.  That would be absurd if it were true.  Can anyone that has this installed confirm or deny this please?

Well, you definitely don't have to redownload the whole thing every time you play. But either way, don't bother with the official HD textures. If you've got the extra power to use HD textures, get the Skyrim HD 2K Textures on the Skyrim Nexus. Here's one of the many comparison pics from the nexus page, showing the Official HD textures vs the Skyrim HD 2k textures. Open in a new tab for full 1920x1080.

The difference is quite obvious without pulling it out to 1080p.  Still, I am not so sure how my system will handle it.  Specs below obviously.
