I don't really see the point of upgrading to Win8 when Win7 works just fine. Even if I had a monitor that allowed touch control, I still wouldn't want it anyway because I don't like fingerprints on my monitor. Tablets and phones can have Win8, I will stick to Win7 for my desktop until there is an OS that is actually worth upgrading to.

Yughh never liked l4d. I was hoping it'll be free forever, so I can co-op with friends. Meh no thanx to free weekend.

You still can while it lasts. There is an achievement you can get for helping a free user survive a campaign. Not that anyone really cares about those anyway though. XD

I can't help but remember Tenchu Stealth Assassin's blood effects. Gory and over the top, but that was a console game. Since this is a PC gaming thread, I will say...

I suggest you stick to the railroads and rivers when possible as they are usually not heavily gaurded and patrolled like the roads. Always look for the blinking green light when you are driving. If you see an area on the map that seems carved out off the beaten path, it usually has a diamond. Also, if you look at the map (zoomed in to your sector) more closely, you might notice little black objects here and there (very small, often 1-3 black cubes). Those are almost always diamond or journal tape locations. Use the fast travel bus system to get close to your objectives because as you may have noticed, driving there sucks unless you are desiring some firefights. Start fires to cover your flanks. I usually throw a molotov in the grass right before I get a major firefight going on one side of the road to prevent the enemy from flanking me. Use the jeep as a platform to reach seemingly unreachable jumps. Also, sniper rifles are your best friend, because the stealth system is...well...not really that good. Nade jeeps because the resultant explosion is often 4 fold of what the grenade blast radius would have been alone. Make sure you use vehicle mounted weapons as often as possible to conserve ammo, no to mention it is effective. And...save often. If a buddy has come to rescue you, in order to get them back, either rest for nearly a day, or unlock another safe house. Good luck, have fun.

I beat the game on all difficulty levels, so you can assume I enjoyed it. Sure it gets a bit repetitive at times, but since you can use differnt attack angles and weapons, really the game is only as boring as you chose to let it be in my opinion. By the way, Dart Rifle rocks. That is the only weapon upgrade I would use any diamonds on. Reliablility is crap on it, so do that one and that is it.

Might as well add in the title "for a weekend"

SovietsUnited

I would have put that in the title had it been just the weekend, but it goes from Thursday to early Monday morning. I don't think it is misleading because I clearly state in the first post the days and a link. You cannot expect to get all of the info in a title for everything otherwise nobody would read anything but topic titles.

Well, you can play as the survivors from the first game with the updated weapons and graphics. Although I am not sure if all of the content will be available to free users, they have added the original campaigns into the 2nd game.

Play Crysis 1 first. It is probably the best overall, though Warhead can be skipped, I recommend playing that as well. If you get the Maximum Edition, it comes with both. In fact, I think there is a new maximum edition that has come out since Crysis 2 has been out that contains all 3 (and Crysis Wars) but I could be mistaken about that. Crysis 2 is a good port, but it is still an obvious port. You can download tesselation and texture packs as well as fix the FOV to improve the experience, but the gameplay is quite differnt as others have mentioned. Crysis 2 is more run and gun at times whereas in Crysis, you could play through nearly entire levels without being seen. Give em all a go.

Xcom: Enemy Unkown and Dishonored for sure. Might be getting Assassins Creed 3 too, but I think that comes out in early November. I cannot wait for Far Cry 3 this December. It was originally scheduled for early October, so sadly I will have to wait on that one.
