Just in case you haven't noticed, there are lots of jaggies on a 1080p display, and no graphics options. Go to the root folder where the game is installed, and open Config.xml in notepad. Change x="1920" and y="1080" or whatever your display's native resolution is. Voila! Hit save at the top, then close the document. Launch the game. Improved it immensely.

I stopped playing Skyrim because it was getting somewhat dull, but have picked it back up since there are a plethora of great mods to make the game fun again. However, I noticed that the last 4 or 5 achievements that I have recieved are not showing up in Fuse since I have been using mods. They are showing in Steam, but it has been 4 or 5 days. Am I just impatient, or might there be something to this? I launch the game with Steam open, and SKSE_Loder from the desktop because the UI doesn't work properly if the game is launched via Steam. Could that be it? Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Unfortunately, the kill cam is the only good thing about the game period.  Everything else about it makes me want to Hulk Smash my keyboard.

Mafia 2. How do you spend that long on something, only to develop a shell of a game? They built an attractive city without any actual game play. All thats left are crappy mini games, endless driving and tired cover based sequences. It epitomises everything wrong with modern gaming: too many cutscenes and not enough to actually play through. Its shamelessly padded too. If you took out all the superfluous task there wouldn't be much there at all. The first game is masterful but this slop was deserving of a public shaming, complete with rotten tomatoes. biggest_loser

I completely agree with you. I loved Mafia, and I thought that this game was going to blow the other out of the water. I was on board at the start when you are in Italy during WW2 (the lighting effects of bullet holes through the door!), but after that, the game slowly decintigrated. The only way I ever had fun outside of the tedious driving in the dead city was to rob cash registers at stores and fight off the cops and or mob. Other than that, it was way too scripted and task oriented for a supposed open world game. 100% agree.

I know that there will be lots of opinions on all sorts of games, so I think this is a good topic. I will just start it off by saying that Crysis 2 was a horrible sequel, not just because it was an obvious port, but taking the jungle away, and insering a cityscape reminded me all too much of another sequel failure. Predator vs Predator 2. I loved both the first game, and the first movie, but removing the jungle and replacing it with a cityscape in both instaces ruined those sequels in my opinion. Far Cry and Far Cry 2 are often picked at, as most do not like Far Cry 2 that loved the first. I happened to like Far Cry 2, but there are some things that annoy me about FC2, though it has some things going for it as well.

I am sure that factory churned out games like Assassins Creed and Modern Warfare will make the list on some level, but aside from games that are churned out for a profit, what games do you think didn't need to be made, be it a sequel to a hit, or a sequel to a game that never deserved one in the first place?

There is a big DLC coming for Skyrim sometime in the next year. Any ideas what it will contain, or rather what you would like it to contain?

I'm confused, why are you posting here, you're the one who says PC is dying.:?

Oh yeah, I forgot that every multiplatform game that comes out has wonderful UI thanks to ports and PC as an afterthought.

In fact, the 1st 3 Command and Conquer games are now free to play. From what I have read, you might have an issue getting them to run on anything beyond Win XP, but a couple users say that they got in running in Vistax32. No real positive feedback from Win7 users, but one user suggested using dosbox.

I am upset that there are no bots to play against like BF2. It would be nice to get used to a map and vehicles against bots before going online. I think if I remember correctly, BF2 bots came later on, and they were horrendous at first. They are still terrible, but the point is, you can actually practice flying a heli or jet without taking 50 deaths to feel like you have a grasp on it.

Also, when the hackers seem rampant and the teams are all unbalanced on a particular night, it is relaxing to play against bots instead of smashing your keyboard and shaking your fist at DICE for the evening. Hehe.

BFME2 is pretty cool but it has a max res of 1600x1200 if I am not mistaken. It isn't bad, but it seems a bit stretched on my monitor. I liked the first one except for the fact that you have to build on specific spots. Also, there are waves you have to fend off until Aragorn/Gandalf arrive on some missions (Helms Deep and Minas Tirith) that are really cool. Two is better, but there are some really cool elements in the first that make it fun.

You might like the Command and Conquer games. I think C&C Generals is one of the better ones. The total war games (Rome/Medeival/Shogun) are good games as well. They are more about territories and city improvements, and aren't quite like the RTS games you have already played, but the actual battles are very much RTS. And if you haven't played it, Warcraft3 is a good classic RTS to have, but you won't be picking that one up since it is BLIZZ...lol.

[QUOTE="valium88"]

You mean this year... This article is old and is from last year lol :p

valium88

2 months ago would be more accurate. To say last year and old in the same sentence implies that is around a year old.

No, you fail yet again. It means what it says that the article is from last year, the year of 2011. lol it's not like it's the end of the world or anything :p You gotta expect some ball bustin' on these forums. And next year is next year unless you turned back time and wrote that back in 2011.

On January 1st that article could have been called from last year, it is still not that old. Nice to see someone actually contributing to the forum with negativity for once. If you have nothing to add to the TOPIC, go somewhere else. I don't HAVE to expect ball busting, you just want me to accept it because you enjoy it. Why should I? Done with you....
