It wouldn't make any sense for them to make you re-download it every time.  But seriously, copy and paste the 1st link to your browser and read the section under BUGS.  It insinuates that it re-downloads which sounds like it was already downloaded once.  That would be absurd if it were true.  Can anyone that has this installed confirm or deny this please?

There is a free 3GB texture pack DLC in the steam store.  I have read elsewhere that the modded textures are actually better (2k).  I am using a few such as "better females by bella" and a couple others.  I don't really care too much about the textures on foliage and the ground, so I don't know that it is even worth the download.  I also read that it has to download the 3GB file every time you play it unless you run Steam in offline mode, but perhaps I am reading this wrong.  And there is no way to uninstall it unless you completely reinstall Skyrim or contact Bethesda and ask them to remove it.  If you seriously have to do a 3GB download before you play, I am gonna have to pass for sure.

Anyway, I was wondering if it is even worth it if anyone has experienced both modded textures and the official DLC res pack.  I might want to put some mods on top of the DLC anyway.

If you are overclocking your card a bit too much, that can cause driver crashes.  Pull it back to stock settings if that is the case.  Otherwise, roll the driver back to the previous one and see if it works better for you.

Yeah, that sounds more like a driver issue than a FC3 issue.  My FC3 crashes were all related to buying things in the stores.  Mostly weapon attachments.  Sometimes it would crash to desktop directly from the store, and at other times right when I walked outside of it.

How did you fix this?

I haven't done anything to fix it, but I haven't had a crash in quite some time.  I never got a driver crash and recover like you though, just a straight CTD.  UPLAY didn't update to the latest patch when it came out, so I snagged it here.  I think UPLAY was only upping the 1.3 patch some time ago.  If UPLAY is still not autopatching to 1.4, here it is.

I tend to like them sofar, I need to play way more SKyrim since I kind of left in the middle of nowhere, after 60 or so hours XD

But I liked the DLC even Hearthfre, but the reason why I accept that one, was that I bought it dirt cheap.

I overall think that Bethesdas FO3 DLC were better, but overall I consider the Skyrims DLC competent or even good. Far better then most DLC.

Yeah, FO3 DLC was good.  I bought "The Pitt/Operation Anchorage" and "Broken Steel/Point Lookout" for 20 dollars each and didn't feel slighted in the least.  That is the only game I have ever bought DLC for and I think Skyrim is a strong candidate for my next DLC purchase.  Bethesda is usually pretty good about packing in content for your money.

I will wait and get all dlcs for like 10 bucks. I'd pay 10 bucks max for dragonborn, looks like a reasonable amount of content with some silly features like dragon riding.

i still have to finish skyrim main quest...

alan_carter

I think I am with you on that one.  I don't think I will be spending 45 dollars for the 3 DLC packs.  Hopefully there will be a 25 dollar or less bundle sometime down the road.

I took about 6 months off from Skyrim, then just a couple days ago completed the main quest (Lvl 51 Theif/archer).  I was feeling so overwhelmed by side quests and faction quests that I just had to take a break.  I almost forgot what the main quest even was at some point.  I even avoided talking to anyone in fear of getting more quests piled on.  :)

I am not sure if it is worth 5 bucks for Hearthfire if all you get is the ability to build your own house.  What about Dawnstar though?  I think Dragonborn will be the best one to get, but what do you think about the others?

Even if they find a body a minute later and they didn't actually see the guy go down, they will still rush your position. It is absurd and one of the things that aggravates me the most about this game. I don't really care to throw rocks for 10 minutes trying to get them all one by one. I usually just try and sneak in to disable the alarm, then go back at range and pick as many off as possible before they rush in. But before I do, I lay mines at their most likely approaches outside the camp.

Fallout 3 GOTY edition. You will dump at least 50 hours into that game.
