AMD Phenom II x 4 940 BE @ 3.6 Ghz Gtx 470 SC edition with extra tweaking of my own 6GB DDR2 Kingston Hyper X Runs everything at max that I have played so far. I put this rig together 2 years ago or so. I am hoping that I don't have to upgrade anything for another year.

I like to play FPSs for the most part, but what I really enjoy is a shooter that allows you to use your brain as much if not more than your gun. The games on rails are getting old and repetitive. Far Cry 1 &2, Crysis, and Crysis Warhead for example allowed you to attack situations from multiple angles/vantage points as you see fit. I grow tired of games that force you play as they want you to. Also, as much as I like online shooters, hackers and teabagging 12 year olds can ruin a night of online gaming. I am good at shooters, so it isn't that, it is just that I don't play games to get called names or my mouth full of fake testes. And really? Hacks available at game launches now? That is why it would be nice to be able to play multiplayer against bots in newer games. BF3 is missing this crucial piece that was in BF2. You don't get any practice with jets or helis in BF3 until it counts! The modern shooters are practically ruined straight out of the box with some of these issues.

It runs fine, but my only gripe is that the graphics seem a little muddy in Spec Ops. It almost seems like I am playing at 3 to 4 resolutions lower in Spec Ops. Anyone else notice that?

Windows ME is as bad if not worse than Vista. XP and 7 are the ones to have in my opinion.

If it is only textures for paths, I don't see any real need for it. I would wait for one that improves character models and landscapes as well before I jump on one that is under my feet.

2-4 GB is a HUGE patch. I would think that is a map pack/DLC at that size coupled with a patch.

If I were you I would update every time there is a new driver. If you run into any snags or issues, rollback to the last.

This is my first 2k game as I normally have played NBA live. I like this game for the graphics and overall presentation, but the My Player mode downright pisses me off. It seems like the AI on my own team often turns the ball over (no matter which team I am drafted to), but rarely gets steals themselves. They will jump up and shoot the ball into the bottom of the backboard when I dish it down low, but the AI on the opposing team never does that. Blocks on layup attempts are far too frequent, passing is downright terrible, and the player grading system is not very good. You get marks against your player score just for letting the player you are guarding score, but sometimes it is impossible to prevent. For instance, guarding Kobe, or Paul Pierce for 4 quarters. Also, sometimes when players get bunched your assigned man switches to someone that should have been picked up by someone else, and you get dinged for the basket instead. Rebounding is also very frustrating. It seems like no matter how well I position myself for an offensive rebound, I get stuck against someone that shoves me back then I get called for over the back. Also, on the defensive end, I get out rebounded by point guards on my own team even when I have better position at times. It just doesn't make sense. Steal attempts are laughable at times as your player drunkenly stumbles 20 feet further than necessary. Lastly, the shooting is not very good either. You are supposed to release the ball right when the circle flashes, not after you see it, but as it flashes. This is impossible. You have to anticipate when it is going to flash in order to stand a chance at a perfect release. Sigh...this is still a good game, but there are lots of little irritating things like this that prevent it from being stellar. For me it is a 7 when it could have been a 9.5-10.
