Some of my game and anime collection.

I had to use my webcam to take the pics because I don't own a digital cam,so please excuse the poor picture quality.

In this pic you can only see the front row, there's 2 more rows of games behind it,and many games on top but they aren't all visible and I don't want to pull them all out.

This is where I keep some of my older PC games.PC game boxes are so big so I only just have the cases for many of them.

More games. There's another 2 stacks of games behind these 2 stacks.

The bottom part of the stacks.I have many GBA games in the other drawers but it's too hard to position my webcam to take a pic.I also have lots of GBA and PS1 games in a slot underneath these stacks.

Final Fantasy VII and FFX cutscene, movie and song collection.

While Final Fantasy VII isn't rare,it's becoming very expensive now and you should get a copy of it while you can.I bought the FFX collection in Malaysia,it has all the cutscenes,FMV footage and songs/music from the game, plus some remixes of the songs/music.

I bought FFVII and FFVIII for PC a while ago.I bought them as spares because they will run on most old PCs,and they were cheap too.

Rurouni Kenshin(Samurai X) and Cowboy bebop games for PS2.Gamespot don't even have the release date for the Cowboy Bebop game, and neither of them have officially been released outside of Japan.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 for PS2,and on the left on the bottom is a 3 in 1 game disc with Marvel vs Capcom 1,Street Fighter EX2 and Buster Bros Collection for PS1 and on the left at the top is X-Men vs Street Fighter for PS1.

The entire series collection of Rurouni Kenshin and Cowboy Bebop.I also have the movies from those series.

Entire Mobile suit Gundam 0080 and Gundam Wing anime series collection.

The entire series of ''Air Gear'' and an anime movie collection with Akira,Ninja Scroll,Ghost in the Shell.

Initial D Extreme Stage for PS3 and Initial D Special Stage for PS2.

Suikoden III.It's not the rarest game out there but it was never released for PAL region,so to own a copy of it in Australia is a great thing. It's a great game too.

Thanks SquareEnixfan! JK :P

OK 10 things about me.

1.My favorite genre of games are JRPGs.

2.My 2 favorite anime series are Rurouni Kenshin and Suzuka

3.I love Thai,Chinese,Japanese,Vietnamese food,and I don't like western food.

4.My favorite Japanese band is called M.O.V.E.They did music for Final Fantasy,Initial D,and other songs that I love. And they can do hard, heavy stuff, cute pop stuff, punk,a touch of rap.

5.I love astrophysics and astronomy and learning about the work of Albert Einstein,Sir Isaac Newton,Stephen Hawkings and discovering how the universe works, how planets, stars, solar systems, galaxies, black holes are formed, and theories on how the universe was created and whether it's expanding, contracting or deteriorating and the possibility of parallel universes.I admire Gallelio for having the courage to stand up against the Christian Church and explain how the formation of the Solar System really is(even though the Christian Church threatened him with torture for heresy if he didn't recant what he said)

6.I love to look at the stars a lot and I think about how there's hundreds of billions of stars in this galaxy and hundreds of billions of galaxies in the universe, and where the alien life is out there, and what will they be like, and when will they find us/or when will we find them(and if they already have found us,when will they officially communicate with humanity as a whole).

7.I'm mixed Thai,Chinese, white Australian(which means I have European in my bloodline).

8.I've been to Thailand many times, the U.S 3 times,Hong Kong,Taiwan,Malaysia.I feel strongly drawn to China and Korea though as if I've lived a past life there.I want to visit Japan like 99% of the gaming world.

9.I'm fascinated by the movie K-PAX,because the alien describes his planet as a planet with no murder,no war,and plenty of food to feed everybody, and his people can cure any disease/illness using the energy of their mind. And they can travel to different star systems and planets by attaching themselves to special light beams that travel much faster than the speed of light, and explore different planets and star systems at their own leisure. It makes me think how humans have enough food to feed everybody but people still starve and die from starvation...

10.I wish I could live somewhere in Asia,or on K-PAX.

Prepare to be tagged..Pacu,Miss Apocalyse,Bigd

My 13 most favorite RPGs.

The smallest list I can do is a top 13,because I wouldn't feel right it I left out any of these games on my ''most favorite RPGs'' list.

1.Final Fantasy X

A story with time travel, religious extremism, emotional abuse, romance, heartbreak, destruction, political corruptipn, people from dreams becoming real people,an enemy destroying their world that they cannot kill and many giant plot twists you won't see coming but they fit the story perfectly. The most beautiful cinematography I've ever seen(geographically and using special effects for things like tsunamis.FFX is a story that many guys have admitted to crying when they've played it.

2.Final Fantasy X-2

It gives closure on the love story between Tidus and Yuna and takes you to Spira once again to let you see what has happened there after the first game.I love Yuna's singing too,and how she sings about Tidus and is so devoted to finding him.

3.Final Fantasy VII

It was the game that got me into RPGs.A story with a love triangle and some big plot twists and revelations that make the story so deep to the point other FFVII games have been released to explain more of the story.Shinra start off as your main enemy, then Sephiroth shows up and the story becomes so much deeper than you originally thought, especially when Jenova, the Centra, the Turks and many more things come into the story. You start off in the dark, metropolis and travel through city slums, past giant structures and explore countryside, tropical resorts, desert etc.

4.Final Fantasy VIII

A much more light hearted Final Fantasy game. The world is at the brink of war when a powerful sorceress sends her army to attack weaker nations.Squall lives and trains at an academy to be an assassin and has a small group of friends but is mostly anti social, then he meets a beautiful girl named Riona who is completely the opposite to him,and Riona takes a liking to Squall and when he's around her he starts to become happy and smiles and the other students have never seen Squall do this before.Still they have the task of saving the world from the evil sorcerer and her army and more plot twists later take place.

5.Jade Empire

Easily the best WRPG I've played, but it's based on Chinese culture and mythology. You create a character(can be a male or female, and you can choose to create a character that uses power or technique during combat)and the decisions you make can affect what happens in the game.If you choose to be a male character, there's a greater potential for romance between you and your close ally named ''Dawn Star'' who is a beautiful woman. You can insult people and pick fights,or listen to lots of stories people have to say and you can use a large variety of fighting s t y l es and weapons. The chinese s t y l e architecture and surroundings are beautiful.

6.Lost Odyssey

I know I rated Lost Odyssey behind Valkyria Chronicles on the blog I wrote about favorite games from this gen. However I prefer VC's story and I know eventually I'll want to play Lost Odyssey again to experience the deep and very emotional story.Kaim is a great main character because he is caring as well as tough, and re-experiencing some very painful memories and watching some very emotional scenes, you'll have to be very strong willed not to cry during some of the emotional scenes.I like how there's 2 love stories, one is cute and heart warming, and the other is very sad and painful. And the concept of immortal characters with 1000 years of memories to rediscover again was a great idea.

7.Breath of Fire III

I played this game after I was finished with Final Fantasy VII many years ago,and it was so addictive. The anime s t y l e graphics with the RPG basics of travelling from town to town and levelling up on the way,and having a character who can turn into a dragon is great.I found this game very addictive and I wish my copy could still work and it has a light hearted feel and not as intense or difficult as other JRPGs.

8.Xenosaga II

I have only played the 2nd game in the series but it was a great and addictive experience. The story is very deep, and humanity is at war with itself as usual, but faces a new threat in the form of beings that come from another dimension that can kill any living creature they touch. The game has a very sci fi atmosphere, and many characters with blue or pink hair and high tech weapons that still resemble weapons from the past. The story is so deep that a DVD was included with it that just contains story segments.

9.Valkyria Chronicles

There's debate whether it's an RPG or not but Gamespot caterogize it as an RPG and it has more RPG elements than many games that are caterogized by the majority of the gaming community as RPGs.VC combines tactical placement, levelling up and stats, and a tiny bit of 3rd person shooter element. The story is as deep as many of the great JRPGs and is quite emotional as you see civilians getting shot as they flee from the enemy, and it has romance(a very cute and well paced love story)and not all the characters will survive the war and it also contains an ancient race. The water paint s t y l e of graphics work great and give it a light hearted, anime feeling in a deep, emotional story.

10.Star Ocean 3 Till The End of Time

It combines sci fi with medieval very well.Humanity is attacked suddenly by a race of aliens, and the main character is forced to evacuate the tropical resort planet he has been staying on with his family and during the evacuation they become seperated. His journey will take him to medieval planets that have not developed star travel, and finding out why the aliens called the ''Vendini'' started attacking in the first place, and HUGE plot twists take place that you have no idea will come and the game has emotional elements, such as seeing orphans trying to survive on one of the medieval worlds when there isn't enough food and bandits keep attacking the town.

11.Suikoden III

Suikoden III is a deep story about a corrupt kingdom and a tribe looking to finally make peace, and then war breaks out between them once again. There's also a race of reptilians who are on the brink of war with the kingdom too,but all 3 of them must unite to defeat a much more powerful force than the 3 of them combined.Suikoden III allows you to play through the same story using 3 different main characters so you see the story from their point of view and it teaches you not to prejudge someone until you understand the full set of circumstances.Like in most RPGs you can travel from town to town(even on horse back)and you can choose from 108 party members and there's some stunningly beautiful landscapes and music in the game.

12.Dragon Quest 8

The game is extremely addictive, but I can't win it without a guide because the world is so huge and sometimes I had no idea where to go next and it's easy to get lost. The game is quite difficult as enemies level up very fast as you move through the world, and random monster battles are quite frequent.Something about this game makes it so addictive, part of it is the huge world that is beautiful, cel shaded, and I think the big open world stops it becoming linear and gives you a sense of adventure as you can spend lots of time exploring.A real day/afternoon/night system is used as enemies are stronger and at night and even have a mechanized appearance, and in towns different people work day/night shifts.I just love exploring the world and travelling through the woods, knowing at any time I could be attacked by monsters(and that's how it would be in real life, you'll never know when you'll be attacked).

13.Elder Scrolls III Morrowind

I prefer ESIII more than ESIV.I know the world in Morrowind isn't as pretty as in ESIV but the game doesn't restrict you in how far you can travel. In Morrowind you can explore for hours(it reminds me of MMORPGs) and you can visit many towns, travel through long streches of woods and be attacked by wild animals, and you can do almost anything you want(such as talking the NPCs you come across and the towns are filled with NPCs to give it a real world feel, and you can read many books,or you can enter someones house and kill them and steal their belongings,or you can kill anyone you want to,and you choose to buy or steal armor and weapons from stores. If you commit crimes the guards will attack you everytime they see you until you pay a fine.I just loved exploring the huge world and even exploring caves and encoutering weird creatures.

My satelite TV is behaving erratically.

I use a satelite to get channels from Asia that I cannot purchase from Australian cable TV companies.Anyways sometimes channels drop out and new ones appear. For instance this Chinese channel that had Chinese movies, cooking shows and a Buddhist meditation session has stopped working. But last night a Japanese channel appeared and it's really fun to watch. It has entertainment/games shows, and this Japanese man who is one of the hosts of the entertainment show is a big wrestling fan(I know wrestling is very popular in Japan, not just Sumo but the WWE s t y le wrestling too)and he visited America to visit some ex wrestler he idolised(I forgot that wrestler's name)and he wanted that wrestler to perform his favorite move on him,and thw wrestler did so,but to make it work the Japanese guy had to run straight at the wrestler and the wrestler used his shoulder to charge the Japanese guy and the Japanese guy fell to the ground as if he ran into a brick wall and started laughing and was excited his favorite wrestler performed that move on him, even though the move woulda hurt quite a bit,it was just funny to watch.

Also on that show, they had caucasian, foreign people who were also hosts but could speak fluent Japanese. One of them was a caucasian man with long, curly hair that made him look like he was from some 80's rock band. And there was an elder caucasian woman who would joke around in Japanese. And there was a pretty Japanese woman, another caucasian, younger guy who spoke Japanese, plus that Japanese guy who visited the wrestler.

I'm glad I didn't lose the TFC(The Filipino Channel)because it has my favorite game show called ''wowwowwee'' and they have pretty women dancing on it alot, and when they play the games everytime a contestant has some sort of good luck the sexy Filipina girls will come on the stage and start dancing(which is usually about every 30 seconds)And the dancing and singing the audience and hosts do is fun,and there's some seriousness in the show too, such as allowing audience members to tell somebody how you feel about them etc.

There's also a Filipino comedy show that reminds me of a Thai comedy show, where every show it's the same scenario but they change it around a little to make it funny.Eg these group of little girls were selling street food and a bunch of pretty Filipina teenage girls wanted to sell street food in the same area and the pretty Filipina teenage girls stripped down to bikinis to attract alot of male customers and the little girls complained and said it was unfair, and one of the filipina teenage girls put her spatula that was covered in oil in the fruit drink the little girls were trying to sell to comtaminate it,and another one of the teenage girls licked one of the BBQed meat on a stick type things the little girls were selling,so the little girls went to get a big, angry woman who was the mother of one of the little girls and there was a cat fight. And on the next episode,it was the same set of events, but instead of ending in a cat fight,it ended in a neighbourhood brawl where the little girls got their families and the teenage girls got their family members and the entire neighbourhood got involved and it was funny.

Anyways all my favorite channels are foreign and I cannot purchase them and only can get them through satelite TV!

Going to Thailand on the 13th of April for sure.

I wrote a blog before saying I might be going, but now it's certain and my ticket is paid for.Too bad it's only for 10 days,if I could I would live in Thailand and never come back to Australia(Sydney has the worst rated public transport in the world,as well as internet speed that's 30 times slower than Asia's,cold weather for 6 months of the year,I like Thai food and the Thai food in Australia is not authentic and doesn't taste anywhere as good as real Thai food, and Australian food is boring,I also prefer Thai women and Australian women are not my type, and also Thailand has a better selection of video games and they're much cheaper too and Thailand has many games that are never officially released outside of Japan, and many JRPGs that are hard to find in Australia are easy to find in Thailand and many games come to Australia before Thailand and I can buy the games in Thailand that the Australian government banned!).

Anyways, enough of my rant about why I like Thailand better than Australia,I'm very excited and when I'm in Thailand I'm not going to be on Gamespot much.I will be in Thailand from April 13th-until April 24th and I'm not even gonna bother bringing my laptop cuz when I'm in Thailand there's many things I'd much rather do than look at a computer screen, but it's no big deal cuz nobody will miss me anyways.Hell last time I was in Thailand/Malaysia for 3 months only one person on my friend list sent me a PM to ask what happened to me cuz I was hardly ever on Gamespot.

I definately wanna buy Persona 4 in Thailand,I can get it for 80 baht which is like 2$ American(or something like that)and I want to get Persona 3 in English(I have it in Japanese and because the writing is in Japanese I can't even tell if it's Persona 3 or Persona 3 FES!!!) Oh and Dark Cloud 1 and 2 have slipped my games collection and I want at least 1 Dark Cloud game, but people have said the 2 are quite different so maybe I should buy both since I can find them for around 80 Baht.

PC games(genuine copies)are 1/2 the price or even much cheaper than the price they are in Australia, and Thailand has better selection.PC has the best selection of Western RPGs,RTS and Sim games and in Thailand I can find many of them for cheap and I want to buy Call of Duty 5 for PC since FPS are s u c k s to play with controller and I want to buy Mass Effect.

And I've mentioned on another blog how I can buy 25 Nintendo DS games for around 50$ Australian, and I can choose from the lastest Nitendo DS games, rare ones which haven't officially been released outside of Japan etc.And it's funny to think about this because in Australia new release Nintendo DS games can be over 50$ each(for just one game!!!!) The Nintendo DS has sooooooooooooooooooooo many great JRPGs and great Japanese titles now, literally hundreds that I don't already own,I don't know which ones to choose.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the 8 hour plane trip, and there's alooooooooooot of Australian tourists in Thailand, and when they hear my accent they try to talk to me(I don't have a problem if they say hello and make conversation)but many of them talk negatively about Thailand,or about the Thai King, government and people. And a few Australian women I've met in Thailand acted all excited when they heard my voice and found out I was an Aussie guy in Thailand with them, and then they started acting all snotty when they found out I was dating a Thai girl and they would be negative about it trying to tell me why they thought the relationship with me and the Thai girl wouldn't work even before they had even met the girl or trying to tell me why they think ''Australian women are more faithful and better''and they would keep calling me constantly and turning up at my hotel...and would try to talk to me about s e x... The same thing happened when I've visited America too.

I can't wait to visit my relatives because I have Thai relatives and they are lovely people and are so welcoming and always invite me and my brother and father(who's not even Thai)to spend time with them.Where as many of my Australian relatives(on my father's side of the family) are drug addicts,in jail or don't want to talk with us(I'm not lying about this either,I know it sounds insane and horrible but it's all true)

Anyways,I thought I would talk abit about my upcoming trip and abit about myself since I've noticed I don't talk about very many personal things on here except games.Ok bye for now.

Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean 4 for PAL?

I've read that Star Ocean 4 will come to PAL region for Xbox360 sometime in April? And Namco Bandai has announced then unannounced Tales of Vesperia's release date for PAL a few times. It's making people annoyed as they preorder it,then have to cancel, then they preorder again and are forced to cancel once again. When Namco Bandai announced Tales of Vesperia's release time period, they said it would be in the 2nd half of 2009.

My game collection feels incomplete without those games,Tales of Vesperia looks like it has amazing anime influenced, cel shaded visuals, and the story is supposed to be good an long. And some of the footage I saw of Star Ocean 4 during the scenes where they are near the beach and there's beautiful ocean water looks breath taking.

I don't understand why Square Enix and Namco decided to turn on Sony, then they don't even release their games for PAL region, what's the point of doing that? They lose money and punish millions of Xbox360 owners around the world when it's supposed to be Sony who they're out of favor with :P

I showed the Japanese box art because I think it looks better.

Disgaea 3 progress

Someone asked me to let them know what I thought about Disgaea 3 after I played it for a bit,so I thought I would report on my progress.

As many people know,it's a turn based game. You and the CPU take turns giving all your characters orders to perform each turn.

The characters can walk a certain distance over the blocks, and can choose to attack, use a special move/spell or defend. When you make a character attack or use a special move/spell it doesn't consume the turn for that character as you can still maneuver them around(but like I said the characters can only walk a certain distance each turn)

When specific characters stand close to eachother, you can perform a team attack,so far I've done double attacks(2 characters teaming up together to perform a powerful attack),and a triple attack(where 3 characters team up together to perform an evil more powerful attack)

The game plays very much like an RPG,you can level up the characters and can boost certain stats. There's alot of story elements to watch,in between battles you can buy items, weapons, armor, upgrade or learn new special moves/spells.When you're ready to battle your characters travel to a specific room and you cannot leave until you win the battle by defeating all the enemies. There's no random battles and I haven't experienced any fetch quests so far,all the enemies I've experienced are in the rooms/dungeons.I'm at chapter 3 out of the game's8 chapters so I don't know if it will change.

It's quite easy to find where you're supposed to go next,as there's always a certain person who transports you to the rooms you need to go to next the main environment always consists of a nurse(to heal your characters in between battles),weapon store, item store, and somebody who teaches you special moves/spells.There's also cute and colorful characters around the place that you can talk to.

You can re-enter the rooms that you were already victorious in and rebattle those enemies again to level up so you're prepared for the tougher new rooms.

The geoblocks increase the stats greatly of your characters or the enemy characters when you're in certain zones.

The story is told through enjoyable anime scenes.

The only thing I don't like about the game is the graphics during general gameplay because they look PS2 quality.I LOVE anime graphics and old school s t y l e graphics but they don't look sharp enough and to be honest look abit blurry and on a machine as powerful as the PS3 the graphics should at least be sharp or have HD quality.

There's also a nice, entertaining song sung by a Japanese female singer during gameplay and it suits the atmosphere for the underworld where everything is abit crazy.

Finally I'd like to say the game is very addictive and it's fun to level up the characters and perform the powerful team attacks and special moves and learn more special moves.Like in all RPGs special moves/spells use MANA.And being turn based the game is simple but it allows you to be creative in how you want to defeat your enemies(I love doing HUGE overkills on my enemies by destroying them with special moves that are powerful enough to kill them multiple times over). And the game is easy to learn,I've never played any of the previous Disgaea games and I had no problem learning how to play it(so I don't know why the Gamespot reviewer complained it's difficult to learn).

If I had to give it a score now I'll give it a 9/10,but I've only completed around half of the game.

Atelier Rorona

Is another exclusive JRPG announced for the PS3.I discovered it because someone was talking about it in System Wars.I love the arts t y l e.It's release date is June 2009 for Japan, but I don't know how long it will take to get translated and if it will be released outside of Japan, because the PS3 has many JRPGs that haven't been released outside Japan and that's why people think it doesn't have many JRPGs.

My 10 favorite games from this generation.

I'm not basing them on the scores I gave them but just on my personal favorites.

1.Valkyria Chronicles.

So many people say this game is in danger of becoming ''the best game that nobody has played''.The game has a great story, about war, romance(and it's a very cute, well timed and heart felt love story),the story can be emotional main characters die and you see civilians getting shot by the enemy as they try to flee the town, and the story also contains a powerful, ancient race.

The gameplay mixes turn based strategy,RPG elements and a tiny bit of 3rd person shooting. You need to strategically place your units, you can level them up,and you need to manually aim your weapon and react very fast as even thought it's turn based strategy, enemies in fixed positions can still fire at you,and for more RPG elements, when you fire your weapon, there's always a chance you can miss.

The water color s t y le graphics are great and the FMV uses the same water color s t y l e effects and it looks stunning.

Also,Alicia is one of the most cutest/pretty female characters I've seen from this gen :P

2.Lost Odyssey

Lost Odyssey was my favorite game from this gen for a long time until I played VC.It's too bad Lost Odyssey is exclusive for the Xbox360 because it hasn't sold well in Japan and it didn't sell as well in the U.S or in the rest of the world as hoped. If it was on the PS3,many PS3 owners who are JRPG fans from the PS2 era would definately buy it.

Lost Odyssey is a story about 4 immortals(immortal meaning they do not age)and their group of mortal friends must stop a madman who's also an immortal and extremely powerful. The 4 immortals have lost their memories and slowly regain pieces of their past, and are hit by some extremely painful, and sad memories all of a sudden. The main character Kaim has over 1000 years of memories to regain, and some of the sad memories might make you cry.The memories can be presented as flashbacks or dialogue and can be revisited everytime you sleep and some delicate, beautiful, but extremely sad piano music plays for each memory you watch. You will find out the immortals were married to someone and have forgotten them,or have children but their children now look older then them because their children do not inherit the immortal's quality of not aging.

There is a couple of love stories in the game, and one of them is very beautiful and cute, the other is more sad because the 2 people were married but can't remember it.The gameplay is traditional turn based, but for unique aspects immortals can learn the abilities of other characters and when an immortal is KOed they are automatically revived with half their HP over time, because they are immortal and stronger than normal characters.

I liked Lost Odyssey's story more than Valkyria Chronicles but Lost Odyssey has too many gameplay flaws and frustrating gameplay elements so I had to slip it to #2 on my list.

3.Metal Gear Solid 4

I'm not just jumping the ''I love MGS4 bandwagon'',it really is an amazing game, mostly for it's story but the gameplay is fun too and can be played as a shooter or a stealth game, and has elements of using a mech suit to battle another mech suit, sniping(while dealing with a blizzard) and brutal hand to hand combat at the end.

The story is very deep, about in the near future, giant companies will fight for control of the world and use tiny machines called nanos(which are a real concept in todays world)to control their soldiers.Governments around the world have done the same thing, and have also created genetically enhanced soldiers specifically for warfare.

The main character Snake is now rapidly ageing because of a disease he has,and other genetically enhanced soldiers have died from other diseases in previous MGS games, and you saw how they were eager to find a cure and you see the disasterous effects that can result in the modifying of genetics.

Snake tries to complete one final series of missions and kill some psychotic villains before his life end,and you're reintroduced to Raiden again and you learn that alot has happened to him since MGS2 and you learn about deep government conspiracies and the deep pasts and origins of the characters.

The cutscenes are some of the smoothest and most detailed I've ever seen, and the story is so deep, some cutscenes can last for 30 minutes, but it's worth watching them and I think MGS4 has a better story than many movies I've seen.

4.Virtua Fighter 5

Some of you might say WTH? Well fighting games are my 2nd favorite genre after JRPGs and this gen hasn't been friendly to JRPGs so it's only natural a fighting game would be high up my list.VF5 is the most technical 3D fighting game I've played, even more so than the Tekken series. In Virtua Fighter 5 no battle is truly over until it's over, with the ability to win using a ring out or even if you had a tiny bit of health left and your opponents health bar is full, you can unleash a barrage of attacks on an opponent and pull off a victory.

The rock, paper, scissors system in VF5 has the perfect balance, and there's great variety in the fight s t y l es.You can simply overwhelm your opponent with speed,or using the powerful body slam type moves or with technique.

The environments are stunning,I love the scenery in the mountains in Asia that contain mist in the air,and the Asian s t y l e buildings, gardens, temples. The graphics may not be as glamorous as Dead or Alive 4 but I prefer their realism.

5.War Tech Senko no Ronde

It's a Japanese arcade game that came to Xbox360.It mixes side scrolling shooting, close up melee combat, special weapons and the most interesting concept is the B.O.S.S. mode that allows your robot suit to transform into a massive ''thing'' and unleash hell on your opponent. The great thing with the B.O.S.S mode concept is it's always a risk because when you enter B.O.S.S mode your robot suit becomes so big it makes you an easy target for your enemy too,but when you unleash a full on barrage of weapon fire in B.O.S.S mode you can quickly deplete your enemy's life bar,but they can do the same to you when you're in B.O.S.S mode because you're such a big target.B.O.S.S mode makes battles unpredictable and they can swing either way very quickly. If you're winning quite comfortably you need to think ''do I take a risk and try to finish them off quickly using B.O.S.S mode''? and if you allow your opponent to use B.O.S.S mode first you run the risk of them unleashing alot of damage on you.

The game has great anime s t y l e graphics, and I love the hazey effects for some of the endings and futuristic environments.

6.Naruto A Rise of a Ninja

Many people don't like this game but I do,I think it's fun.I like exploring the forest and the Leaf Village. You can use Naruto to run up trees, run up walls and you can explore many parts of the Leaf Village that are not very accessible to most people. You can level up Naruto and learn new moves and use Jitsu and it's importantly you learn how to use the Jitsu for the boss fights. There's many sidequests you can do that can send you deep into the forest and face dangers such as bandits and obsticles such as jumping over water and avoiding swinging logs just to retrieve a woman's purse that she somehow left in the middle of the forest surrounded by all these dangers! And the Leaf Village is so big and colorful I could explore it for a long time. And Sakura is hot too :P

7.Flower

Some people say it's not really a game because you can't lose, but I think it's a beautiful, emotional, spiritual journey. It's hard to explain why I love the story in this game without giving away the spoiler, but you start off as a petal and must journey from the country surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings to the city and restore life to dead parts of the world, and you'll notice on your journey you'll see buildings that look like nobody has lived in them for a long time, and you'll see no people,no other living creatures besides just grass and trees.

You need to solve some environmental puzzles and restore life to areas where there's dead vegetation, and you can just float around and explore the beautiful natural surroundings.I love how gusts of wind blow the grass and the graphics go for a realistic use of colors to show how beautiful and colorful nature can be without making it look too cutesy and colorful.

You see colorful flowers, lush green hills, open grassy plains, trees, rocky terrain on your journey to the city. The music is very spiritual too. After I restored life back to the world and saw the city full of cars and birds in the sky again,it just made me think humanity will just destroy itself and destroy nature again, and the innocent, little, flower petal's journey was in vain :(

8.flOW

Another game that borderlines what is a game or just a virtual acitivity? Anyways,flOw is another spiritual journey for me personally, this time you start off as a tiny organism near the surface of the ocean and must work your way to the darker depths of the ocean floor, and eat other creatures to evolve and become bigger and a more stronger creature I guess(you develop bigger jaws and can absorb being bitten more times from other creatures)other creatures will try to bite you and if they do they reduce your size so you'll need to eat more creatures to make up for it.

As you go deeper into the ocean, the creatures become more dangerous and bizzare looking(just like how creatures in the deep ocean really are)and the music is so peaceful and relaxing and suits an underwater environment and the game gives a feeling of tranquility and life on Earth started in the ocean so it gives us a glimpse of our origins.

9.Blue Dragon

Blue Dragon is a fun JRPG,and while it's not an amazing one, because JRPGs are my favorite genre and there's not many great JRPGs available this gen, this game is one of my favorites simply on default.

In Blue Dragon you can change the character's occuptation,eg change them from being a swordsmen to a white mage or black mage. And it's purely turn based with a simple level 1-99 levelling up system.

The story is about a purple skinned villain named Nene is terrorizing the world and unleashing a purple gas that kills all living things and has an army of robots and 3 teenage characters are forced to leave their village and they've finally had enough of Nene and go to try to stop him once and for all. They meet 2 more characters that join their party, including a little creature that's over 100 years old, who's very cute and acts abit childish in a cute way named Marumaru and a woman in her 20's named Zola who acts abit like a tomboy and was the leader of a squad of knights.

The world is very colorful and huge and fun to explore. The characters have the influence of Akira Toriyama. The game mixes science fiction and medieval/fantasy well. There's beautiful scenery in the game such as beautiful flowing waterfalls and flowing water and nice gardens and cute villages with details such as farms.

Too bad I didn't feel attached to any of the characters and the ''love triangle'' between Shu,Jiro,Kluke was lame.

10.Gears of War

Gears of War was a blast to play through once. While there's many shooters out there,Gears of War tries to be unique by forcing you to stand crouched behind cover alot(just like how you would be in a real warzone)It's very atmospheric win loud gunfire going all around you,and bullets landing everywhere and the city has a war torn appearance.

For more variety, not all the alien enemies carried guns, some of them were small, fast moving savage aliens that could climb ceilings and try to tear you to shreds from up close and some aliens were a rip off from the movie ''Pitch Black'' where they fly around and if you go into dark areas they eat you alive so you need to stay in well lite areas.

What is a true RPG and what isn't?

I've seen this question go around, and I've decided to give my opinion.Well obviously an RPG is a ''role playing game'',but in most games you play, you play the role as some sort of character.

Some people say RPGs can be defined as games with levelling up,character customization, and allowing you to make decisions that affects how the story turns out,but God of War and the GTA series allow you to level up so why aren't they refered to as RPGs? Some people say because the levelling up in God of War and GTA is very minimal, but the same goes for many games that are refered to as RPGs such as hack and slash RPGs such as Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance,Champions of Norrath or first person RPGs such as Fallout 3 and ES III and IV.

In fact GTA San Andreas has quite abit of character customization, you can level up specific stats such as strength by working out at the gym,or speed by running around alot and you can modify clothing and hair s t y l e

Final Fantasy games don't give you very many choices in how you want the story to turn out,in Final Fantasy VII you could ''choose'' who you wanted to go on a date with, but it was deliberately set up so most likely you would go on a date with Aeris, unless you tried very hard to give another character alot of attention so you could go on a date with that character. And at the diner you had 3 choices of what you want to tell the chef about his food(whether it tasted good,OK,or like dogfood),and you can buy an apartment in a tropical resort and play the video games at the arcade and ride on the rides at the amusement park, but in Harvest Moon you can choose you want want to marry, and you already own a house but can buy a business but HM is regarded as a real life sim.But Fable is regarded as an RPG because is has very basic levelling up,and you can get married and buy a house?

Character interaction I've noticed is another common thing in games that are regarded as being RPGs,for example in Star Wars KOTOR and Jade Empire you can choose from alot of different dialogue to say,and the other characters always have a story to tell you or information about the world, and you can choose which stories or information you want to listen to and reply to it in a respectful tone or you can be rude to them, and you can even flirt with people. But in Final Fantasy games, the other characters mostly say 1 thing over and over again and you rarely have a choice of what you want to say to another character. For example in Final Fantasy games, you can't walk over to another character and ask them to explain a story about something to you,or any deep information about the world, the character will mostly say a 1 line riddle. But Final Fantasy games are still regarded as an RPG.

In GTA San Andreas you can openly interact with people such as insulting some random person on the street(calling a woman walking past a ''ho'') and you can go into fast food resturants and buy food, and you can go to a barber and get a new hairs t y l e or you can do an armed hold up in a store.

I've thought before, that RPGs are story based games(because many Final Fantasy games are more about their story than the actual gameplay)but there's many games that are regarded as RPGs that have minimal story and mostly based on gameplay such as Baldur's Gate DA and Champions of Norrath.

Perhaps an RPG can be a game where stats come into things and a dice roll system for combat is used.Every RPG I can think of,whether it's turn based, hack and slash or First Person uses some element of luck for combat.eg in Final Fantasy games sometimes you can land a critical hit on an enemy which does alot more damage.Sometimes when an enemy attacks you they can miss if your evasiveness stats is high.In Elder Scrolls III and IV,you can swing your weapon at an enemy and miss even if the enemy is just standing there because there's always a chance you'll miss with your swing or they will dodge your weapon(but it's a random chance, the enemy doesn't do it manually).

To sum things up,I don't think there's 1 real definition of an RPG,and they are a combination of different gameplay elements and the same thing goes for games from different genres.Halo has some 3rd person shooter elements such as when you use vehicles or turrets. The only 1 thing I've noticed every RPG has is some element of luck(so there's a dice roll s t y l e system in there somewhere)where as in a FPS if you lock the target onto an enemy and shoot, your bullets will always hit them unless they manually dodge it.Same thing is in GTA when you lock onto an enemy and shoot, the bullets always hit them and there's no element of luck that the bullets can somehow miss.
