A few people I used to talk with no longer use Gamespot and I've noticed other people are leaving Gamespot, these are people who have been using Gamespot for years and are over level 30.I think it's sad,I can still talk to them on myspace or msn messenger but they don't talk as much as on gamespot.
I wonder y they leave, some of them say it's cuz the popular reviewers left and cuz of Gamespots policies eg firing reviewers for refusing to give a game a good score and mods suspending you for such little silly reasons and just for voicing your opinion.Gamespots scoring system s u c k s now too.Cuz every game scored is rounded up or down, games in the past that may have gotten 9.2/10 now get 9/10 and games that get 9.3/10 get 9.5/10 so it's unbalanced now.And it's unfair to games using the old scoring system, sure you could round up or down the old scores yourself but unworthy games could get 10/10 and labelled ''perfect'' while older better games much more worthy of being called perfect did not receive this reputation.
Also IGN allows you to choose which blogs you want to allow people to leave comments on.I love getting comments from my friend Miss Apocalyse as well as from a few other people(but those blogs were deleted and those people don't use Gamespot anymore) and I get comments from people who just want to start a fight or act like they are better than me.I could just ignore them but it makes my blogs and gamespot page look ugly with their annoying remarks.
Gamespot only allows you to either allow people to comment on all your blogs or not let anyone comment on them at all.It should be like myspace and IGN where you can choose privacy settings for each individual blog.
IGN also allows you to add DVD's to your collection, make your own custom collection lists, and displays pics of the game box next to games on your collection. The only reason I don't use IGN more it's harder to make friends on there, but if my friends used IGN i would jump to IGN instantly. They also give more video footage during their previews and give better scores.
Some people just become too busy for Gamespot or lose interest with games and that's another reason why they stop using Gamespot which is sad too.
