oh look, another gamer who thinks they are "hardcore" because they can bash on wii. hate to break it to you, but wii owned 2010. the lineup of exclusives this year was unreal, I can't even keep up with all the great games on wii. wii is not my only console. it's a fun gaming device. it's not special, it just has a boat load of great games that are fantastic fun. only in highschool does bashing the wii make you look cool teknic1200

Anyway, let me put this in another way, and tell you my point trough my perspective, by asking you this.

So you agree that in terms of technicality, the consoles are superiour to the PC, in terms of graphics? I'll bet you, that every time i would ask that, to anyone, they'll say the same obvious thing. Ofc. people can state bull., but that's beside the point.

We factually and absolutely know that the PC is technically superiour in terms of graphics.

My point was that stating the obvious, which we all are aware of as being absolute fact, is boring. And for the Wii, i'm talking about its tech specs, because i would never put games in this. Games are subjective..

And the word "special".. that is such a vague term, i wont even debate de relevancy of that.

Yes, technical fact are absolute. Of course everyone can see that. But technical specs are not the end all of things. Let's say you have a Nintendo fan here on the forums. You know the graphics are not on par with PS3 and HD. That is a fact we all know.

However, like some other MS and Sony fans, you try to convince others that your system is superior in other ways. And when a nintendo does that, or an sony fan tries to defect attention from nagging omissions from PSN, or an Xbox fan downplays paying to pay online (all debatable), it doesn't mean that the past "flaws" are forgotten.

They are subject to be brought up in any argument at anytime. Yes, it is beating a dead horse, but so are 80% of the topics in System Wars.

It happens, and will always be as such.

What is it about PS3 and 360 that makes them so special TC? Their media features? nintendo has never been a trailblazer in that area, they innovate on other things.

Also, when PS3 is attacked PS3 owners defend it, when 360 is attacked, 360 owners defend it. So why is it that Wii owners can't defend the Wii?

Why do people still whine about this anyways? If the Wii doesn't interest you there are two...no, three other platforms for you to go to. What is there to complain about? Let everyone play on whatever system they want. As long as they're having fun it's all good.

That's what games are for right? Fun?...or has that changed over the years?

You make some good points, but I think it is wrong to say Nintendo is not competing with the 360, PC, and PS3. If you are a video game publisher, developer, and console producer you are competing with every other platform that makes games whether you admit it or not because in the end you goal is to get people to buy your product, and that may include persuading people to buy your product instead of MS or Sony's.

No, Nintendo isn't, they know their target audience, kids, young families, that kind of thing, they know they won't win over most gamers because most of their games don't cater to them, so they are on the same market, but they're not really fighting for a market share, they have their own sandbox to play in, so to speak.

You seem to forget that the 360 is constantly bashed for is lack of exclusive and XBL which is even more frequent now with the announcement of Uncharted 3 and some other PS3 exclusive.
