Got Oblivion, other stuff to talk about...

Well, there's not a whole lot to say.  I'm mad is what I am. I bought Oblivion at Circuit City right? Well I come home, all happy that I got this great game where I can do a whole lot, and the DVD-Rom doesn't detect it. I try everything, nothing. So it's either the game or the DVD-Rom drive. I can't really tell which one it is but I'm taking the game back, getting a new copy and trying it again.

Other than that, ther's not a whole lot to say. Oh and I kinda like the new Gamespot Text Editor.

Most all hope is gone from me

Maryland lost to Butler last Saturday.  I'm completely upset with the referees of the NCAA Tournament as I've seen many bad calls. Also my other team I like, who my cousin has floor seats for, Wisconsin lost to UNLV Sunday.:(   Now my team that I want to go all the way is North Carolina.

As for what I did Sunday, well I didn't do much. Oh Saturday night after my blog, my Aunt was at my house so our family watched The Departed. Although I had already seen it in Theatres when it came out with my Mom and Brother I still found it very good. It won 2 Academy Awards, one for Best Picture and one for Best Director (Martin Scorsese) [Yeah I spelled it right]. Other than that on Sunday I basically hung out. I played a little BF2  but yeah that's what I did. I'll probably getting Oblivion soon but I'm also really wanting to go play Gears of War somewhere, ANYWHERE!

That's all for my blog today,

have a good day.

New Emblem, (Again) March madness Update, Games I want, and other stuff

I'll start out with the emblem....again

Elementary, my dear Watson.
This aspiring detective went above and beyond the line of duty to provide feeback on Scavenator, GameSpot's scavenger hunt game.

Another emblem for me, this is the 3rd emblem this I have received this week. (Pushover, Biological Warfare, Regular Gumshoe [Scavenator Emblem]) Now to the extreme craziness up March Madness.

Wow. That is the one word that can describe March Madness so far. First off I'd like to start with Maryland. Maryland had to go up against Davidson yesterday and it was a pretty even match-up. My first thing that amazed me though was Texas A&M Corpus Christi. They went on a first half run against Wisconsin and completely dominated. But the Badgers came out of half time running and all of Wisconsin Senior Point Guard Kamron Taylor's 23 points came in the 2nd half and Wisconsin won the game in the end. My 2nd favorite match-up though was Duke vs. VCU. VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) BEAT Duke and advanced to 2nd round of the tourny. Also Louisville BEATDOWN Stanford and completely blew them out. Those were the most notable match-ups yesterday.

Games I want. Gears of War and an Xbox 360. Wow. I was pretty bored yesterday so I wanted to watch some Gears of Wars Multiplayer videos. So I did. It looks like an amazing game (which I'm sure it is) and just wow. But I still want Oblivion as it looks awesome. But I really want a 360 just cause I think Xbox Live looks awesome. I don't know what happened but I just watched some videos and it just took minutes to convince me that 360 is the best Console out there. (Wii's Graphics are like blah)

Lastly, I watched the Last Commander Standing Tournament yesterday on Tournament TV and I was disapointed. The Tournament was only about a half an hour. This one guy, (I forget his name) just completely got going to it from the start and just rocked his other 2 opponents. But Sumpreme Commander looks like a great game. Finally, tommorow is my last day of Spring Break and I'm gonna miss it all. Being on Gamespot alll day just feels great again.

That's all for today, see you all tommorow.

Happy Gaming,

ZG16

March Madness, ANOTHER NEW EMBLEM, and other BIG things.

I'll start out like yesterday with the new emblem.

If only everything in life were this easy.
This individual is extremely generous when it comes to evaluating games. Each new game is "definitely the best game I've ever played!", judging by the very high review scores being doled out here. Speculate all you want, but we both know you're just jealous.

There you go, the pushover emblem. Now to March Madness.

As most of you know, March Madness has already started. (tuesday the play-in game with Niagara and Florida A&M)
But today is when the true March Madness begins as we will likely see some upsets. I'm currently watching Maryland (Fav. Team of All Time, I was born in Maryland) vs. Davidson and it's currently tied 17-17 around the 12 minute mark in the first half. A lot of the ESPN and CBS Analysts such as Jay Bilas, Dick Vitale, and Digger Phelps and some other analysts are picking ODU (Old Diminion University) to upset Butler. (Who has actually kind of fallen in their last 8 games, only 8-8 for this team who started out great) So I'm kind of looking forward to that match-up but I'm REALLY looking forward to the DUKE (dumbest team ever, I HATE DUKE) vs. VCU. (VCU=Virginia Commonwealth University) So yes, Duke vs VCU. Also another upset that analysts are looking at is the Oral Roberts (ORU) vs. Wazzu. (Washington State University, Wazzu=WSU, kind of sounds like it, their nickname which people call 'em) Oral Roberts though has a great scorer in Caleb Green (20.8, basically 21 PPG, PPG-points per game, and they also have Ken Tutt who scores 16.1 PPG. Note that I might add that Caleb Green also averages 9.3 RPG=Rebounds per game, so he almost averages a double double per game, double double is where a player has 2 (double) categories in which he averages in double (the second double) figures, ex: 20 ppg, 11 rpg.)

So that is all my March Madness stuff. Now to the less important news of my life. As I said yesterday I'm saving for Oblivion and also looking at some other games. But I'll most likely get  Oblivion. Also yesterday, my brother came home from Washington D.C. as he was there with Winona State's Student Senate Group. Winona State has the longest Division 2 Men's Basketball Streak at 53 games, #1 in D2, and yeah he goes there. (It's in Minnesota) He got me a Boston Red Sox flexfit hat (i like the red-sox as I went to a game of their's when i was living in Maryland when I was at the age of 3, my uncle who taught at Rutgers took me, Daryl Lund is his name, look him up on google. he's my uncle, my mom's brother. He works at University of Wisconsin now as he lives there and he's a food scientist and food enginner. Tommy Thompson who was governor of Wisconsin was his room-mate. Look him up online under images and you'll see him. He goes to 3rd-world countries and tells them how they can be more effective in using their food, he's went to many Asian Countries such as China and Japan and has told them how they can grow their rice mroe effectively and also how they can use it to feed people more effectively. So yeah he's very smart and is now retired. He is also a Dean. Note my name last Name is Galchutt which is my dad's last name, my mom's maiden name is Lund, and no they're not divorced.)

I'd also just like to say that ESPN College Gameday Host Rece Davis (yes only one e in Rece, not 2) said that starting Maryland Freshman Guard Greivis Vasquez, who is from Caracas, Venezuela (Caracas is it's capital) said that Greivis Vasquez is his player to watch in the Midwest Region.

Greivis Vasquez, below.
That's all for today. Have a good one

New Emblem, New Game, and other things.

    First off, the new emblem.

Down With the Sickness!
This user spreads the GameSpot virus among the masses, infecting the Internet with gaming goodness wherever he travels.

I received this emblem due to one person, a good friend named Easteast. Now everyone, if you want this emblem I suggest you contact Easteast in anyway or form, and ask him how he can help. He has gotten over 70 Biological Warfare emblems for Gamespot Users. He is a constant contributer to the Gamespot Community and if you have any problems he will try his best to help you.

My new game isn't truly "new" as in the release date, but new as in a new game I have.

Rome: Total War
I was looking for a new Strategy Game because I have Civilization 4 but I was looking an RTS with more warfare and battles in them, large-scale battles basically is what I wanted. Although in Civilization I love how you unlock new technologies, one of the key features in Civ. 4. But anyways I find Rome: Total War to be fun, strategic, and challenging. All the things I want in a strategy game. Final Grade: B+

As for other things I'm currently saving for Oblivion for the PC as it looks fun. I'm pretty bored though right now, there's nothing on ESPN, only last year's NCAA Slam Dunk and 3-Point Contest and on ESPN 2 only women's swimming. Boring if you ask me. Tommorow I have to go shopping for a new tennis racket and some new tennis shoes cause school tennis for me starts a week after my spring break, which I am currently on. I'm also gonna go look at the Emblem Guide and see if I can earn some new emblems, probably some video emblems. Well my frozen pizza is done, so I'm gonna go eat that for lunch.

Have a good one,

-ZG16.

Review for 300, my ambitions for gaming at the moment.

What have I done so far today? Not much as currently on my clock it's 8:52 AM. Yesterday was actually the day I saw 300 and I can tell you that the movie is worth the money. The only bad thing that happened to me was that I sat next to a kid that had schizophrenia (yeah I spelled it right, look it up on google if you don't believe me) and he kept on eating stuff really loud during the whole movie. Other than that the movie was terrific. Here's my in-blog review for it.

300

Some people don't really understand the true meaning of 300. It is known as a story of 300 men, 300 spartans, 300 fathers and husbands. 300 of Sparta's finest soldiers, ready to fight and die for their country to keep it as a free state. Spartan King Leonidas lead these 300 men, including himself, North, to defend his home state from King Xerxes, King of the Persian Empire, almost of Asia with him. While most people may look at it just as a war or blood-shedding struggle, the story is known as The Battle of Thermopylae. These Spartans trained from birth, were all torn away from their mothers at the age of 7, had to fight to survive, give no scent of fear to the enemy, cause they all knew if they did, they could not be a Spartan. While the battles scenes keep the movie exciting, it's the story which keeps you watching. Leonidas, the Spartan King, and his furious men battle wave through wave of enemies, while still struggling just to run and fight. The action is also a key element of the movie as it would be nothing without it. The camera is very good during the movie and you see a lot of the fighting or key moments of the fighting in slow-motion with very good camera angles. Overall, 300 is a very well rounded movie, with both a good story, and good actions, and some well timed comedy by Leonidas at the Persian King Xerxes. I give 4 out of 4 stars. And finally as Leonidas said....

 THIS IS SPARTA!

Now to my gaming ambitions. Currently in my head I can't think what I like better, Roman Times or Medievil Times. I don't see why I can't like them both but it seems to me I have to choose. But whatever with that, today I'll probably do some chores to get some money or something, and I'll probably go out and buy Rome: Total War because I want an RTS with more action, Civilization 4 is a blast of fun unlocking new technologies and playing scenarios but I just want some more action and a realistic idea that a Mechanized Infantry unit can destory longbowman even if they do have a 60% defense bonus, cause yesterday that happened. But I also like Civilization cause of invading other countries. I hope there's more action and war stuff in Civilization 5. But anyways I'll probably get Rome: Total War today and I'm still wondering if I want Oblivion or Medieval 2: Total War. But anyways other than that I'm probably not gonna do to much today, maybe watch some College Hoops Semi and Quarterfinals like the ACC and Big East Tournaments. Oh and I'm really liking Assassin's Creed, love the gameplay of it. (See I like Roman Times cause of The battle of Thermopylae [300] but Medievil Times cause of like the Crusades and Assassin's which is set in the Crusades) But yeah that's all for me today. Heck maybe I'll research assassin's in the crusades or something historical that is interesting like that.

Have Fun:)

BACK AFTER ABOUT A MONTH. (or so)

Well, how have you been and where to start?

I guess I'll start out by saying I got a DS Lite abotu a week ago. I got New Super Maqrio Bros. as my first game and I'm loving the Single Player and Mini Games. I also applied for a job at a move theatre where my brother is a manager but is currently on a leave of absence because he's at his college. He is currently in Washington D.C. though because of Student Senate things. I also got a new banner thanks to my good friend easteast. Hey East how are things in Rosemount? Get a lot of Snow? We had a snow day last week but I'm now on Spring Break. I am also on my school's tennis team everyone and that starts a week after I get back from my sping break.

I have been gone from Gamespot just because of lack of activity, homework, and normal things I guess. I'm also currently saving for an Xbox 360 because I would REALLY like Assassin's Creed and I believe it will be better on 360 rather than Playstation 3. I've also been playing a lot of RTS's and I really want a new RTS but I need help on deciding for a new one. My  choices are either Rome: Total War or Medieval 2: Total War, I would like both as in the factions andfeatures, but how is the gameplay of both, and which one do you prefer if you have played it??? Tommorow I'm also going to see the movie "300" which is about The Battle of Thermoplyae and how 300 Spartans united to battle the Mass Army of The Persian Empire, led by Xerxes. (sorry I like history)

So I've been good and I'll stay active.

Later.

New Blog about "Various" Things

I was sick again today. So I have now been sick for 4 days and I have so homework growing into a big pile. But I find all my classes easy so it won't be an issue for me. I also saw today when I was logging in, in the headlines on Gamespot's homepage that Nintendo named a new VP of Licensing. I find this just as an upgrade to Nintendo's Empire and don't think it will have a big change on Nintendo's games. But then again, you never know.

I am also trying to find how to get videos uploaded on to Gamespot. Some questions I have about how you do this is what sites do you gamers go to to get these videos? Then after you get to the site do you download the videos and click save or open? You would think I would know but no I don't:P.

As for gaming, I've been getting back into Guild Wars and I haven't played World of Warcraft for about two weeks.  I also said awhile back that I was planning on saving to get a Wii with Christmas money instead of a DS Lite. Well I have found out that in my city that we won't be getting Wii's until Late-Mid February. I called to both Best Buy and Circuit City and they both said they're totally back-ordered. So I will be getting a DS Lite. A black one for $130 with Metroid Prime Hunters for $30. Then I will be spending my remaining money on a $30 iTunes card, and with that I will get "The Office" Season 1 and some songs for my iPod. (30 Gig, Black.) Then I will be saving for more iTunes cards to get "The Office" Season's 2 and 3. Oh and by the way did anyone see "The Office" last night? (Thursday) I liked Dwight's resigning speech:lol: and then the oompa-loompa like song:P

As for tonight I'll just be taking it easy. Watching the Timberwolves at the Grizzlies, and some other NBA games on ESPN. As for tommorw, it will be a busy day for me, but more of a relaxing day. I'll be watching the Terps' #25Men's basketball Team play #14Clemson at home which will be exciting to watch becuase Clemson is the last undefeated team. It would be great if Maryland could snap their streak. Also, the  #1Lady Terps' Basketball team plays AT #3 Duke. But in the end I thinnk UMD (Maryland) will win. (I love/root/cheer for Maryland because I was born there. Clinton, Maryland to be exact. And yea it's named after the former president) Also today was the MLS Superdraft (yea they call it the superdraft) on ESPN 2. I was watching it because I know Maryland is great at Men's College Soccer. the #1 Draft Pick was a Junior Year Mid-Feilder from Maryland. The #4 pick was a Goalkeeper from Maryland.

That's all I have for all you at the moment.
