@silversix_: So, it's cheap because American corporations don't want to pay Americans $30 per hour when they can pay someone else in another country $100 a month to make the exact same cheap product in the exact same factory.

Corporations have to boost the quarterly. If sales aren't increasing, they have to either raise the price or find a cheaper way to produce it and/or cut the fat(lay offs, budget cuts, relocation etc.)

@jellyman68: "All xbox players were children," is a much more correct statement. I am 37 and have 2 xbox one's and a 360. My wife is 35 and my kids are too young to play games. My friends list is full of 30 somethings....even the first wave of people who bought the original xbox are 13 years older than when it came out meaning that they are all adults by now and many of them bought a 360 and will inevitably buy an xbox one of they haven't already.

@bigdaddyshouse: it runs better on my xbox one than on my a10 all in one pc which cost over double the amount of the xbox one...the vast majority of pc's out there are not gaming pc's. They are walmart specials, tablets, all in one's, mac's etc...a small percentage of the pc's out there are gaming pc's. So using a blanket term of "pc's are better" is slightly out of context...

@heavengirl15: Better graphics or just better resolution and frame rate? It stands to reason that if you increase graphics you will lower performance; I imagine this is the case here.

@spaceloving: i guess the billions of dollars of r&d on developing the blue ray wasn't the reason then? At launch blue ray players were $1000, and the ps3 was $800 and sold at a loss. I remember people buying a ps3 just for blue ray movies because it was cheaper...

@hvd2222: actually pc players collect games. Console players generally play a game and then move on when the next yearly iteration is released.

But, again that's a generalization. Obviously you don't share everyone's opinion and a lot of people like going back and playing old games. Especiallly people in their 30's. There is a niche collectors market for people who grow up and have kids and have jobs which afford them the ability to go back and collect what they had when they were a kid...hollywood and game developers are trying to exploit that very market with remakes, reboots, remasters etc. Recycling old intellectual properties like transformers, gi joe, the smurfs etc.

@joshrmeyer: i think you're dead wrong. People are angry because Sony could code out an emulator and open up their digital marketplace without much effort, but they are instead trying to lock out their content and charge a premium for a repackaged version of a product people already paid for.

@sonofdark18: me too. Still waiting for bc on mass effect 2 and 3, skyrim, oblivion, rdr, dragons dogma, dragon age origins, dragon age 2, witcher 2 and kingdoms of amalur.

Then i will no longer need to keep the 360. As for ps1, ps2 and ps3 games, ps4 has really shit the bed...if they would open up their marketplace, i would open up my wallet....i don't want to have 4 playstation consoles under my tv nor 3 xbox consoles beside them.
