Rob Van Dam lose the title,

WESLY_SNYPES

Rob Van Damn lost the title because he was an unprofessional a***** who allowed himself to fall into a situation where he garnered negative press (and not the good kind of negative press Vince Mcmahon likes) while he was the Champion, got suspended, and screwed up all the booking plans which led to a makeshift Big Show title run. That's it. Facts are facts. Vince Mcmahon deserves no blame whatsoever for being hesitant to put the belt back on him, since Van Dam obviously wasn't mature enough to handle it. He was given his shot, and he blew it. End of story.

I'm not so much annoyed with the decision of removing the belt from Marufuji as i am with the new champion. Takayama's still around, ain't he? Last time i checked, the guy was over like hell and was able to pull out decent matches for a man his size. Marufuji would've looked fine losing to Takayama, since no one would really expect Marufuji to beat Takayama due to the size difference. Marufuji would've left with the respect of the crowd and you would've had a decent short term transitional champion in Takayama.

Considering Morishima couldn't even take out Misawa earlier this year (which may seem like laughably illogical and self indulgent booking given the fact that he's way past his prime and pretty out of shape, but that's a whole different story) , Marufuji doesn't come out of this match looking too bad, but it could've been much better.

I like Marufuji, but facts are facts. The guy didn't draw squat in the Budokan with KENTA, which is the Japanese equivalent of MSG. For that reason, I can understand why Misawa would put the belt on himself, because like it or not, Misawa has enough credibility as a legend to bring in decent business for the time being. Even if Morishima doesn't get the belt this year, they need to start pushing him hard. Don't put him over every big name opponent left and right, but give him some high profile matches, and eventually wins when the time is right.

As for KENTA, i definitely think it was a mistake to put the GHC heavyweight title on Marufuji before him. The only thing keeping KENTA from being a bonafide heavyweight is his actual weight. He has the credibility, the charisma, and marketability of a top ace. Give him some time to bulk up a little and he might be taken seriously.

And SUWA retiring? :(

AND HELL YES, KOBASHI'S COMING BACK!!!!

Who do you think are the top 5 most influential workers of all time?

For me, it breaks down like this:

(In no order)

Jushin Liger - The prototypical Junior heavyweight. More or less the modern day Tiger Mask during his prime. Popularized so many moves and his influence can still be seen in many Junior Heavyweight wrestlers today.

Tiger Mask - Maybe not the greatest worker ever, but you can't deny his influence on Junior Heavyweight wrestling over the last 20 years. Without Mask, there may not have been a Jushin Liger, who was a far superior worker.

Bruiser Brody - His look, his attitude, his wild personality, his character psychology, his ridiculous bladejobs, and his superb brawling ability inspired many like Mick Foley and as of recently, one Necro Butcher.

Buddy Rogers - The most influential heel character of all time that inspired some of the biggest names in history, like Ray Stevens and Ric Flair.

Superstar Billy Graham - While some may disagree with the foundation that he laid wich eventually changed the business, the fact remains that Billy Graham is one of the most relevant figures in Pro-Wrestling of all time. Without Graham, there wouldn't have been guys like Hogan, for better or for worse.

Kurt does have a point, though. Sabin's too vanilla to the point where he isn't marketable. That idea, while not the worst thing i've ever heard, does indeed suck.

Remember that article a while back about Randy Orton failing a drug test which claimed the Observer as its source?.... And Dave Meltzer legitimately losing his temper a few days after that story had been posted?... Yeah.

"Wicked-Wrestling.com"

That pretty much says it all right there. If it were from Pro-Wrestling.com, i MIGHT give it some credence, not that that says a whole lot considering Pro-Wrestling.com is the king of **** pesudo-dirtsheets as it is.

Dean Malenko was taylor made for the 50's/60's.

AJ Styles would've been a huge star in the 80's Southern territories.

Paul London would've also been a huge star in the 80's South.

I'm marking out right now.

mja2k3

Why? So he can be repackaged as a Swiss dude with a german porn fetish who wrestles a bland pseudo-euro style?

This really sucks. No more KOW, either. CHIKARA won't be the same.

Good for him, though. He deserves a steady paycheck. I know i'd take the deal.

Well actually I read that scouts were impressed by some Hero matches in Europe. So maybe there still could be KOW. And I wanna see my Claudio weekly and not on DVD.

You'd rather get a crap sandwich with cheese for quicker than a decent tasting cheeseburger that only took an extra 10 minutes?
