A Vietnam game would only be good if it had one hell of a deep story. A story that truly brought up the countless differing feelings of emotions surrounding the war. It should not glamorize the war. It should not glamorize the fighting. It should just show the war for what it was to everyone involved. Anything other than a true representation would be a highly disrespectful act to show towards the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of both Vietnamese and American lives lost in the war.

And those are my feelings on the matter.

I found the game to be a bit too arcadish for my tastes. I'm not a huge fan of just dropping someone into a random race at a random track in a car they may have possibly never driven before and then expecting to place well in the race. Let me practice first at a track. Let's do some qualifying.

And, there's no real customization of the cars. You can't upgrade them, and you can't tune them at all. I'm not a huge fan of tuning in games, but I still feel like it might be nice to have a few options. The game just feels kind of shallow to me compared to a lot of other racing games. I think Dirt worked better with this play style than in Grid. Maybe I'm just too much of an old-school sim racer.

Gamestop and EB Games are both terrible stores with mostly annoying employees (except you get a few good ones from time to time). Go try and see if there's a Play N' Trade near you. That's the best "mainstream" gaming store out.

So wait, where exactly was this ad supposed to be shown, if it is actually a real ad? I'm just curious, seeing as though the article gives no mention as to where this ad would be displayed or anything on that line.

Hi everyone!

A friend of mine and I have been considering opening a videogame store of some kind for awhile. I actually posted a similar topic on this a few months ago and I got some very useful comments back that helped a bunch.

However, we've been looking around and have stumbled upon a slightly lesser known videogame store known as "Play N Trade".

We were just wondering if anyone has actually been into a Play N Trade store and what the general impression was after you went there. We're trying to look into every possibility for owning a store of our own, and decided that we should try and find out what the general feeling towards Play N Trade is while researching whether or not it would be an intelligent franchise to get involved with the ownership of.

Thanks in advance for any input you have on the issue!

LCD's are usually cheaper and easier to find. They're pretty much what most HD companies are investing in creating. However, from my own personal experience I truly think plasma TVs are better for gaming, because LCDs all seem to have a bit of a laggy delay in their projection of video onscreen. I've yet to play Guitar Hero or Rock Band on an LCD and NOT have lag issues, even after repeated calibration attempts.

I also think plasmas usually have a brighter and more colorful picture from my own experience owning both types and browsing through numerous models of each on the showroom floor. However, the big issue with plasma is that, first of all, they're harder to find because people seem to be getting away from them and going towards LCD fully. Also, they tend to have issues with "burn-in" on the TV screen if repeated images are shown on screen over long periods of time. So, that's definitely not good for gaming at all. That's the one thing that can make them terrible for gaming.

So, to each his own. I still prefer the plasmas, but an LCD TV might be a better solution for you.

Thanks everyone. A lot of your suggestions were things we had brought to mind ahead of time, so it's good to know others agree with them, such as the wifi hangout and the drinks and the frequent tournaments, etc.

Feel free to keep on throwing stuff in here!

Hello, everyone.

A friend of mine and I are undergoing the basic planning to go about creating our own independent videogame store near where we live. The idea has come from our own love for gaming and our personal want to try and satisfy the wants and needs of other real gamers out there. We want to make a gaming store that's not just some overpriced, money-hungry franchise. We want to create a place that truly embodies what it means to be a gamer and a part of the gaming culture.

It will be a long, hard, demanding process, but we're ready to chase after our dream. However, I really am curious what all of the other true videogaming fans would want out of a real videogaming store, if they too had the chance to create one.

So, what would be the best videogame hangout place you could think of? What would make you want to take your business away from the large franchise gaming stores and take it to a local, independent store?

[QUOTE="Gamerboi27"]because store is closing, renting is not available...and we need a game for tonight's sleepoveroutbreak201

this made me lol....HARD....

I hope it's one of the sleepovers where the one guy sits in the center of his bed as dozens of scantly clad women come climbing into his bedroom surrounding him and then he plays videogames while they continue to rub his back and kiss him for the remainder of the evening of gaming.

I'm sure that's the type of sleepover you're having.

Rock Band is far greater than GH III. Harmonix took their skill at making games with them when they left the GH franchise behind.
