It depends on the owner. Maybe you'll enjoy use of it for 2 years until it's not doing everything to your liking.....maybe it'll last you 6 years.....no one can tell you how long a piece of hardware will last you or perform for you.neatfeatguy
well as a gaming cpu, running games as high as they can, how long will 4 cores be mainstream you think

[QUOTE="04dcarraher"]Well GTX 570 vs GTX 560ti isnt that big of a difference and the i5 would make up the slack vs a Phenom 2 with GTX 570. No that motherboard does not work with bulldozer and right now the Bulldozer isnt being fully utilized and will be slower then an i5 in gaming for most cases. If you need to save more cash then go with a Phenom 2 955 and overclock it.Iantheone
I agree with this. PII 955s are still very good for gaming, and while being quite cheap you could get some beastly graphics card going.

so you guys suggesting the 955 and gtx 570 then?

well for the past 3 weeks i have been building my pc online, iv been slowly tweaking it and perfecting it to get the most bang for my buck and for what suits my gaming needs, i have everything basically decided done pat, except now the cpu and gpu, originally i was planning on getting the i5 2500k and the gtx 560 ti however recently iv been contemplating instead of getting a phenom x6 1090t and using the extra 60- 70 bucks towards the gtx 570. so basically what im asking is should i get the gtx 570/x6 1090t or the i5 2500k/gtx 560 ti?? keep in mind i plan on doing sli eventually and the gtx 570 in sli would be pretty beastly also im wondering, if i did go with the x6 1090t, would this motherboard be compatible? http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=10530BD3234 also would that motherboard be compatible with the upcoming bulldozer?(just so in a few years if i wanna upgrade to the bulldozer) the reason i dont want to get the i5 2500k and gtx 570 together is cuz this rig im building is just barely under 1300, and i dont wanna go over, which is what would happen if i got the too together thx for the help
