to me that wouldn't be that big a deal. If you have broadband nothing would really change.

I wasn't talking about Microsoft supporting it. Third party game designers will not support dx9 or XP. The incentive going forward will be to move away from XP. If you are buying an OS for this year maybe it doesn't matter but going forward Vista is the better choice, especially for pc gamers who will want to take advantage of dx10's performance improvements on the gpu end even if they sacrifice some memory which isn't really in short supply these days. Vista will extend many years into the future and XP simply won't. Its not really debatable that vista will last longer.

absolutely. Just make sure to move the time slider over. Do no less than 1 hours for sure. If you are testing an overclock out I would try starting slow (30 minutes or 1 hour) and watching it but eventually you need to run a 4 hour test

I've never heard of any way to change your account name but it wouldn't matter for security anyways. The biggest security issues with steam involve you being sent to a lookalike sight and entering your info into it. No one is sitting around trying to guess your username and password, the way you get in trouble is by giving it to them so just never click on any outside link and you'll be fine.

Nvidia actually makes an excellent stress test tool. There is also one called OCCT that is simple but very good. If you already have ntune and a nividia graphic card I would stick with that.

one thing to keep in mind is that XP was a disaster at release and it didn't get fixed until service pack 2. My point is that Vista will continue to improve. At the same time XP will not be supported going forward so I would either wait for windows 7 or get vista. If you are concerned about compatibility then go with the 32 bit version. Also for gaming, I believe only vista is dx10 capable and the day is coming that publishers won't support dx9 anymore.

and all I can say is WOW! I had forgotten how good it was. Its the perfect adventure game I think between the excelent story, long length, fun but not frustrating puzzles that keep it moving along, and the near complete lack of running you around through a dozen load points at a time make this a game worth replaying or playing for the first time if you haven't.

The one bad thing is that they haven't even started working on the next series becasue Tornquist is working on this The Secret World MMO first which is still a ways off. Maybe we'll get the next installment sometime before I die of old age.

WOW is one of the most boring games I've ever played.

Are all MMOs like this?

This forum is pretty general. I would try the COD forums. Also you shouldn't have to do any port forwarding to host a coop game. If you were going to host a server you probably would but coop doesn't require that.
