I hope they don't forget the shutdown sound either. It's really annoying, especially in the middle of the night

@SolidTy: I agree. I'm primarily a PC gamer, but we kind of get hand me downs when it comes to Fighting games, and most AAA titles in general.

Hell, I feel like we're lucky when games run fine and don't crash all the time during the launch week.

As for more eclectic stuff like dual gpu (Crossfire / SLI) if that works at all within a month after launch, even that's a miracle. Well, even having that stuff supported is a big deal imho.

Plus, we don't get exclusives, like Halo, God of War, Sunset Overdrive, Uncharted... the Playstation stuff I understand, but Windows 10 is owned by Microsoft, and we still get shafted when it comes to Xbox exclusives. I just gave up and got an Xbox One recently.

I don't regret it. Consoles are fun in a different way than PC's and now I can just rent $60 launch-day games to try them.

@ctlaltbatman: PC gamers always could, it's just easier now. Technically all you had to do was grab an off-the shelf OEM PC on sale or clearance, then slap a 750Ti in there (as long as the PSU could handle it) and you were good.

Plus, recently iBuyPower was clearing out $500 PC's with Geforce 950's and intel i5's with Windows included, which was an INSANE deal for all the specs you got. If you know how to build, or wait for sales, PC gaming has always been affordable, even if you don't build.

As affordable as consoles? No, but it doesn't always take $700 to make a decent PC. Although to be fair, you usually did have to spend around $700 to have a good rig. These new cards from AMD should make it easier though. Hopefully Zen CPU's will do the same thing when it comes to processors. If they can beat the price/performance of the i5-6600 and similar stuff, AMD will have a winner.

Sounds good. If either the 470 or 460 can run just off of PCI-E slot power and don't need an external connector, that'll be big news. A single-slot and / or passive cooler with perhaps a slim case option would also be neat.

If AMD releases something that's like the 750 Ti (can just slap it in an OEM PC with a 300w PSU and don't need a 6-pin connector for power) that'll be big news, especially if it really outperforms the 750 Ti. I'd like to see 380 / 960 performance in a card like that.

Seems good. June 29 gives me approximately 1 month or so to start saving. $200 is a killer price for something that may end up being faster than a 980 or 390x.

@hermitkiller: You know what, I am a pc gamer, but what you say isn't untrue. Hackers made The Division less fun for me. The constant stream of bugs and exploits also hurt it.

@bigdaddyshouse: To be fair, when the rich have to deal with the internet where they live or are staying. If they only get dialup or slow dsl where they're at, they're still screwed. Especially if the local monopoly refuses to provide broadband no matter how much money they're offered.

Edit: Yes they can move or travel, but if they're stuck somewhere without good internet for a while for whatever reason, even the rich can be out of luck, because ISP's are really that bad.

With internet connections being slow, expensive and increasingly data-capped monopolies nowadays, I doubt consoles will ever go away. Especially because people will want to be able to play when the internet is down or buggy.

@shay-cormac: I recommend keeping your PS4. There are exclusives the pc doesn't have, and many console ports to PC are ridiculously broken.

Plus, it's almost impossible to get a PC that can game as well as a console for $300. The cost of Windows alone is close to $100.

I primarily game on PC and always have at least one console for those reasons.
