I'm adding a 5570 onto G31m-es2l motherboard with xp sp2.

Do I have to disable onboard graphics or not?

If i do, do i disable it from Bios or disable from Device Manager or remove the onboard graphics drivers altogether?

Opinion seems divided on most tutorials.

I have a graphics card with 15 pin D-Sub,DVI and HDMI. but my monitor only supports 15 pin D-Sub.

I'm currently directly connecting the 2 via D-Sub. Would using a DVI to VGA converter improve the performance. Thanks for your help :).

I intend to upgrade from an integrated graphics to 5670. I have Core 2 Duo E7400. I play games at 1440x900,am not a gamer with lots of time though, and i have a poor power supply.

Hence, should i buy a less expensive card?

Do you think tom's hardware is mistaken? or have they got a different version of card?

I am upgrading from integrated graphics.

In terms of gaming performance and price which is better 4670 vs 5570

-I won't use eyefinity.

-I don't think that the 5570 can use dx11 well so that's not a concern.

-I need a budget graphics card without dedicated PSU connector.
