@hardcoregamer1: You know what needs to stop? This comment that compares last gen with this gen like the circumstances are even close to the same. One network was free last generation. Why should MS say yes to that deal when PSN gamers didn't pay for online? Don't forget how unsecure PSN was last geneartion as well.
But the worst thing that needs to stop is "because MS did it before under way different circumstances means Sony should say no now". So people should hold MS accountable, but have different standards for Sony and not hold them accountable, especially when LIVE and PSN are now more secure and charge the same? Congrats on wanting to hold gaming back.
@plus_1: TitanFall is a completely different story with a lot larger development team than PUBG's. There is no AI to offload or other features that would benefit PUBG's, it can all be ran locally on the machine it's playing on. There is literally no reason for them to put all of the work it takes into incorporating those networking features in to one version of the game when it's not needed for the game.
@plus_1: What will help optimize the game is running on a console, developers don't have to optimize for a wide range of specs like on PC, and MS is helping them on the Xbox version.
Also, the game isn't offloading assets to Azure, you have to build the game around that type of networking system, it's not something they would add just for the Xbox versionin that short of time. Plus, this game doesn't need it, the environment isn't fully destructible, everything can be ran off of the console or PC. They are simply using Azure on the server side.
@deathstalker83: Unfortunately you can cross off games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour titles, Iron Man, and probably the Forza Motorsport and NFS titles.
The licensing for all the cars, music, voice actors, sports stars, etc. make these titles very, very unlikely to become BC. It's possible they get the music and car lincense hammered out on the driving games, but the sports games aren't going to happen.
And here lies the problem, she's out of touch with reality. If the manager of 1st party studios doesn't see an issue, she can't correct it. 2017 was the worst line-up in Xbox's history, that's not an opinion it's a fact. It's ok to say we didn't have a great year for exclusives, the line-up isn't the best, and that we hear the criticisms. Instead she said "what are these people talking about?". This is the consoles 4th year on the market, this should be when it hits its stride with exclusives, not have its worst line-up.
@plus_1: MS isn't using PUBG to show off Azure in gaming. Forza's, Halo 5, Gears 4 have all been using Azure as dedicated servers the same way PUBG will. There's nothing being offloaded to Azure in PUBG like it will be in Crackdown 3.
@plus_1: The console preview rings/program is not the same as MS's early access Game Preview program, you will not have to be a member of the console preview program to access games in their Game Preview. Everyone with an Xbox One will be able to download PUBG on December 12th. The only time that might have happened is when MS first launched their early access program, but for at least the last 2 years any game in Game Preview is accessible by anyone with an X1.
@heqteur: Ok? You don't need a degree in business to know a console that plays the same games for $250-$300 less is going to sell more than the $500 console. If the One X isn't for you, buy the One S, don't want either? Buy a PS4 or build a PC.
