@Mogan: Dated, yes. But overall the way it works is far more satisfying. To me at least. I liked that you had to choose what kind of character you were and basically didn't ever have your hand held.
Plus I think it would have more to offer than nostalgia. I never played the game till a couple years ago and I loved it.
I wouldn't be that surprised if the threats were real or the guy was just being dramatic. Assuming there were actual threats made, I think the worst thing this guy could have done is go public with them. All that does is show the trolls making them that they are being heard. Don't feed the trolls; ignore them and they'll leave.
If you are actually seriously threatened don't advertise it to the world, tell the police. If you just announce it to the world all over social media it just makes it look like you are seeking attention.
I still really, really don't like the idea of mid-gen consoles. It just defeats the whole purpose of a console, which being is cheap and easy. If you want to have a device that can be upgraded regularly you need to buy a PC. I have a PC because I regularly like to upgrade, and when I buy a console it's because I don't want to jump through that upgrading hoop to play the latest games. These new mid-gen consoles seem be trying really hard to emulate a PC yet by trying to do this they lose the entire purpose of being a console.
I really hope this trend of mid-gen consoles dies out quick. Consoles aren't PCs and the sooner they quit trying to be them the better.
The game is certainly fun I has sort of a Team Fortress vibe. But overall it does feel kind of shallow too. There really isn't much of a meaningful progression system, and the lack of a campaign or single player of any kind is somewhat disappointing.
Overall it's great fun but is not really worth the 60 dollar price tag. (Bear in mind I don't own but have played the game)
Oh believe me I'm not the only one who feels this way. Just put the letters 'SJW' into the YouTube search and you'll see that it is in fact thousands of people on both sides of the political isle that feel this culture of perpetual offence has gone way too far. And that laws trying to protect peoples feelings are harmful.
