If the game goes in the direction of 3 (and to a lesser extent 2) it won't matter if the character is male, female, black, white or a polka-singing hermaphroditic Jewish cane-toad. It won't likely be a very good game. IMO 2 was a step in the wrong direction and 3 was an abomination in more ways than the ending. It just treated you like such an idiot, the cover system was crap, and was bloated with politically correct sermons.
@Daian: That's a bit dramatic, don't you think. I don't really have a dog in this fight, being American, but I know that historically the UK is a hard to break nation. And I highly doubt pulling out of the EU is going to cause some sort of total collapse. The only way it will is if everyone keeps parroting that it will until it does.
IMO the EU would be a pretty crappy thing to join if leaving meant death to your country.
I've been beating this same drum for a while now but I still have yet to see something to convince me these mid-gen consoles are a good thing. They eliminate the entire purpose of consoles. Consoles are meant to be cheap and easy with a decent lifespan. Why buy a console if you plan on dropping several hundred bucks every few years on your gaming device? If you really care about having the top of the line power, buy a PC and upgrade to your hearts content.
Plus, why would a developer want to create anything for the earlier version of the console if they will have more power to work with in a couple years. I know MS and Sony have said the previous consoles won't be abandon. We're told the Scorpio will play X1 games and vice versa and same with the PS4 and Neo. If this is the case there can be a few outcomes. Either the new consoles games won't have much of a visual difference because they are tied to the old consoles (not have a disparity in multiplayer and such.) That or the devs will have to essentially create two versions of every game. One for the new and one for the old consoles.
I mean really either they have to make a better version for the new consoles or not make a better one, and either way doesn't seem to make much sense to me. If they do make a better version that leaves the old behind. And if they don't make a better version there doesn't seem to be much of a point (other that a few extra pixels) to get the new consoles.
Maybe I'm looking at this whole thing the wrong way. And I fully admit I could be wrong. But in my opinion the mid-gen console is just a bad idea.
@bobafetthatesu: Wha? I'm not complaining. Just saying what I'd be more likely to buy. I already have Skyrim looking really good on my PC and don't really want a remaster of it.
And what do you mean "Like all internet kids?" Do generic internet kids generally want to play Morrowind?
