Either way the 9800GTX will slaughter you puny 8800GT.

I don't think it will crush two 8800 GTS G92's-

It won't beat two of those however two 9800GTX's will beat anything. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

Then we will have to wait to see the real benches of this new card in games as Crysis and then compare it with its price tag to obtain its price/performance ratio and see if it's worth to SLI this card. If this card's price/performance ratio is similar as the 8800 GT's, it would be truly incredible, but I don't think so.

But I just hope that SLIing these card would achieve playable rates on crysis with very high detail on 1920x1080 res with some AA enabled, because if not, I will really be disappointed.

No guys wait. First of all, I still don't have my machine since I'm waiting for it to arrive on my country (Venezuela, South America). So I'm gaining the most I can of information to be prepared for when my rig finally arrives.

I have seen many videos of Crysis and I really love this type of game so I really want to be prepared to play this game. Also I've seen thousands of gamers saying that even with their monstrous machine they can't max out Crysis.

No, I'm not of those who would feel incomplete because of not maxing whatever game. I just would like to max Crysis, but I'm bad luck enough to know that the game I want most is the hardest to play at max.

That's why I started this thread, to see if it's able to max out Crysis at XP using also DX10. But since this is impossible, I would have to play Crysis at High settings then.

Finally, since I haven't still received my machine I don't know still the difference between very high setting and Ultra high setting, I even thought that they were the same. So on my previous post, I really meant Very High Settings. Can I play Crysis well enough at very high settings at 1920x1080 res having two 8800 GTS G92's, Q6600 @ 3600 Mhz , 4 GB Reaper PC6400 RAM? If not, I will have to stick with the High Settings.

Thanks.

jajaja No.

I really welcome vista more than XP, but at the same time I'm worried because of the inferior performance of gaming under Vista.

The worst part is, I just bought a new machine, and even so, I can't run Crysis at Ultra High Settings under Vista at a decent FPS rate. So this advice about upgrading hardware is invalid.

I thought that if I bought PC components that are newer than even the game itself, I would be able to run at least this game at the maximum graphical settings without too many lags.

But well..

OK I get it. So since the only to play DX10 is on Vista, and if my game is lagging performance, then my only solution would be to upgrade my hardware right?

I'm really screwed 'cause I just bought Two 8800 G92's and with a Q6600 @3.6 can't run Crysis at ultra high settings at a playable FPS rate. But still, I heard that the problem is also because of a lack of better driver support from Nvidia as well as a lack of optimization of the Crysis's developers.

Yea but we don't even have such an emulator... and we don't even know if it will be ever released... it only emulates some simple demos

So this means that by the time, we are condemned to play DX10 only in Vista... having to suffer the performance degrade inevitably...

And if some newer DX10 game is released, which requires more than Crysis, we would really be doomed.

I have been researching for a way to play DX10 games on XP and have found many things. First of all, we all know we can play Crysis on XP under DX10 doing some small amount of tweaking. But now, for the very rest of the games, I've found this guy who seems to have developed some .dll's to install on XP and to completely enable DX10 for every DX10 game.

Please visit the following link to see what I'm talking about: http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=370

I don't really know if all this is fake, and would like to know if anyone here has tried this or maybe knows this is all fake. Or maybe someone knows a "true" way to simulate DX10 games on XP.

This would be the greatest OS thing. Imagine playing DX10 games on XP performance...

Thanks.

you bought SLI 8800gts and you dont even own 1 of those 2 games....wierd. Anyways Crysis SLI support is not very strong right now. 9mmSpliff

jaja no pal, I ordered this machine like 1 1/2 months ago and I'm still waiting (I live in Venezuela, and deliveries to this country are really slow and is tough to realize that while I wait some new hardware is being released....:(:(:()

So I'm mentally preparing for buying the games for when my machine finally arrives. Which ultimate games out there are the best for Nvidia? Say the games most touched by the TWIMTBP program?
