I have the x58 motherboard and the i7...and I was wondering how hard your suppose to push to force the lever down once you insert the i7..because i placed the i7 into the socket and it seemed like it went in smoothly..then i closed the metal case and went to push down the lever but it seemed like it was harder then it should be to push down and id rather not force anything. soo what do you think the problem is

Hey if anyone has any interesting stories of how they messed up your first build post it here..or if it went fine thats cool to.

I actually just started on my first build and had my first problem...20 minutes into it, I attempted to attach the cpu to the motherboard and found out a few of the pins where bent on the cpu socket and the latch wouldnt close all the way. So I had to send it back and asked for a refund so I can buy a new motherboard..they are about to get the mobo i sent back yesterday and im hoping they accept the refund.

i opened up my motherboard and after a failed attempt of trying to install the cpu (latch wouldnt close) i realized a few pins where bent. I sent it back to newegg for a refund so i can buy a new mobo...does anyone know if i have a good chance of getting this rma approved?
