#5: Angels & Airwaves

Oh I know, the devil could produce a better band. I know, I know...

;)

But there is a charm to this band and Tom Delonge. He wears an aura that feels really similar to myself, and poses questions, specifically to God and ex-lovers, that I most definitely have thought of before. This is one of the few bands where I have every song they've ever produced, and there's something I love about every single song. His whine is something that never tires or bores me, which is rare among a musical group, and this is the band I turn to if I need to cheer up after a bad day at my prada-wearing-uppity-snobs school. Overall, I know many of you guys HATE this group, but I love them, and there's absolutely nothing you can do to change my mind.

:)

"Call to Arms"

"Everything's Magic"

"Do It For Me Now"

"Distraction"

"Rite of Spring"

"The War"

#6: Rise Against

Ahh... The sweet, sweet sound of vegans.

Oh bad joke, I'm sorry. Anyway, this band is RAW. I love raw, and I love how they are not quite punk and not yet hardcore either. The lyrics are freeing (and a bit too liberal at times), and "Prayer of the Refugee" is still one of the most beloved songs for me to sing along too. Sometimes Tim's voice soars like an angel, and a mere 5 seconds careens down to a near shout. I love it. One of the few bands that I'm glad is on the airwaves.

"Re-Education Through Labor"

"Prayer of the Refugee"

"Drones"

"Swing Life Away"

#7: Third Eye Blind

I go down memory lane every time I listen to these guys. Right when their hit single "Jumper" was released, my brother was a sophomore in high school, and he easily clocked at least a 100 listens. I went back to this band about a year ago (going against the mainstream, again), and I've never regretted it. Something about the passionate singing just gets me. And "Motorcycle Drive By" describes almost all of my romantic endeavors to a tee.

Also the song "Wounded" describes one of my good friends who was sexually abused and stuff. Means a lot to me and to her. She tells me it helps her rise up every day. I put it on a CD I made her. :)

"Never Let You Go"

"Blinded (When I See You)" (live)

"Crystal Baller"

"Motorcycle Drive By"

"Wounded"

#8: Paramore

Those following in my little game, I knew little way to give you any more hints that weren't too obvious.

But anyway, I love this band because... well, I just do. This band gives me help that there are girls who aren't emotionally evil or robotic. :P Nearly blinded when I saw her singing a cover of "Use Somebody." Such beautiful eyes. But anyway, I really identify with the lyrics she sings, especially on their third CD. Especially "All I Wanted" and "Ignorance."

"All I Wanted"

"Careful"

"Ignorance"

"Misguided Ghost" (live)

#9: Smashing Pumpkins

This is one of those bands I love, but need only speak little to talk them up. Billy Corgan is great, and Siamese Dream is just fantastic. I really don't think I need to go into why these guys are so awesome.

Fave songs:

"The Bells"

"1979"

"The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning"

"Cherub Rock"

"Disarm"

Oh, and concerning the game, the next band is simply too... obvious, so instead I used a word that is similar to the meaning of the word(s) in the band name.

:)

#10: Muse and a little game for you guys to play.

Hmm... I love unusual music. The type that demands more than one listen. The type that you are convinced isn't played by any instruments but is rather computerized. I really love it, and that is why Muse is my #10.

While they have highly liberal lyrics (often which I like ironically enough), I can't help but enjoy the overall "revolution" message. If I was to pair a single band to the movie V for Vendetta (my 2nd fave movie. Speaking of, this reminds me. The last time I watched this movie I had a bit of pumpkin pie with it I'd rather like some right now.), these guys would be it, and I think overall that is why they narrowly defeated Brand New in this position. I always have hope when I listen to these guys. May seem strange, but I almost feel powerful when I listen to their music. And I love the guitar playing, the singing, the smashing drum play, and how a lot of their songs, at least in my opinion, all sound unique.

My fave songs:

"Resistance"

"Knights of Cydonia"

"Uprising"

"United States of Eurasia"

"Assasin"

Oh and concerning the game, I've inserted the name of the next band I will post in the text. The word(s) will not be next to each other, and I'm curious to see how well you guys will play. I'm sure this particular round and some others will be easy, but others may cause a little bit of head scratching. For future reference, I may use a different form of the word. Oh, and if you've figured it out, try not to post it in the comments to ruin the surprise.

:x

:)

My top 10 favorite bands: Honorable mentions

So there many bands I love with all of my heart, (:P) but not all could fit into the final 10. So this blog is dedicated to the bands I listen to when I'm not listening to my top 10. :P

Attack Attack! : Ever since they kicked out Austin Carlile they are simply not the same. Though they do use auto-tune in their vocals, I still find their sound refreshing, and I really enjoy most of the lyrics off their CD Someday Came Suddenly. Basically, anything they make after this album will be garbage imo. :P

"Stick Stickly" (Ignore the awful, AWFUL video, just listen to the song)

The Beatles: Pretty self-explanatory, without these guys most of the music I listen to now wouldn't exist. Plus, the song "Eleanor Rigby" is easily one of my favorites of all time. I just wish I had more of their stuff in the late 60s and early 70s.

"Eleanor Rigby"

Brand New: I must admit, initially I really did not find the appeal of this band. I used to just think they were generic alternative band that for some reason were generally liked. Boy was I wrong. I love these guys, especially their album "Deja Entendu." They are so raw, and I think that is what sets them apart.

"The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot"

Destroy the Runner: A somewhat typical metalcore band, and yet, I think their first CD is perhaps one of the greatest metalcore albums of all time. Really great riffs, excellent vocals (screamed and sung), and the lyrics are good as well.

"From the Red"

Escape the Fate: Craig. That's all I have to say. Craig. Oh, and they have one great guitarist.

"This is War"

I See Stars: Similar to Attack Attack!, but way more talented in my opinion. They use auto-tune to spice up the song, rather than to cover up bad singing ability. Plus, I really like how the drummer plays.

"What This Means To Me"

Michael Jackson: I hate pop music. I really don't like it. And yet, I can't deny that my hips are always tempted to move when I listen to this talented and often times upbeat man. I really love almost all of his songs, and I thought "This Is It" was well worth the purchase. My favorite song of his is my ringtone.

"They Don't Care About Us"

Miss May I: An up and coming metalcore band. Pretty solid all around, and I really love the vocalist.

"Architects"

Modest Mouse: I really love unique vocalists, and that's primarily the reason I love this band. Though it's cliche, my favorite song by them is Float On. Easily.

"Float On"

Nirvana: My short-lived obsession of 90s music was when I primarily listened to these guys and one other band (mentioned later). Like Brand New, I love Cobain's raw energy, and he was talented, though not as much as most people like to claim.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit"

Oh, Sleeper: A very talented metalcore band, these guys have a solid guitarist, vocalist, and excellent lyrics. My favorite song right now is the self-titled off of their new album "Son of the Morning." The album cover is my avatar if you guys were curious about that.

"Son of the Morning"

Saosin: Hmm... I love Cove Reber. Most of you probably won't which is fine, but the sole reason I come back to this band is his voice.

"You're Not Alone"

And tomorrow (or perhaps later today) I shall post my #10.

:D

So I ended up purchasing Batman and I like what chessmaster is doing so...

I really love it. I beat it in three days, but I'm going through it again on hard, and I must say, Eidos did a lot more good than bad in representing what one night in the life of Batman would be like. I'm thoroughly impressed, and the combat seriously is not getting old at all. Now I have to find a way to grab Assassin's Creed II! :D

Oh and I like seeing what chessmaster is doing with his blog, so I figured I'd compose my own list of favorite bands soon. Not that any of you guys will like them, but we'll see. ;)

Peace.

Assassin's Creed II or Batman Arkham Asylum: Hmm...

So, what game do you guys think I should grab?

I love Batman a lot, and I even really enjoyed Batman Begins the video game. :P

I really enjoyed the original Assassin's Creed and I'm sure I would love the second.

I think it primarily comes down to which one is more replayable.

So, what's your vote?

My birthday is 8 days away, and I can't wait! And my gaming days as well!

I'll officially become an adult as of December 16th. I'm happy I finally am getting closer to the end of this change in my life from childhood to adulthood. I may take back that statement, but as of the moment it will stand. I can't wait until college when I can be around people who think and act like I do, and to be able to express my opinions freely with no fear of mocking. Essentially, I'll be away from the idiots people term as "high-schoolers", and I could not be more thrilled about that!

:D

Oh and my Xbox fund is slowly accumulating. I've recently found $40 in my room I was not aware I had (quite an excellent surprise I'd say), and I'm having 4 friends come over for an official birthday event, and I've asked them for $20 to help a fellow gamer. By then, I'll have $120, and I just recently got a post card from my aunt and uncle, and I will probably get one from a separate aunt and uncle and my grandparents. Plus my brother, sister, and brother-in-law will probably pitch in money as well. My parents will too more than likely. And Christmas is coming up as well. I'll only being buying an Arcade because I already have a working HDD, so I think I'll DEFINITELY have an Xbox back by the end of December. :P

PS, leave your gamertags on here and perhaps we could play some time!

:)
