Pretty sure that it's not the firewall. I actually deleted Mcaffee just to make sure it wasn't that. The internet seems to download everything else at 500kb/s, but sometimes steam won't open. Steam does work now at the right speed, so I'm hoping to make the Diablo 3 client download at the same speed. I have a ticket open with Blizzard, but if you can think of anything else please let me know. I was able to get up to .1% initializing, and then I could see that I definitely needed the whole download to play. Seems to me that it is definitely the Blizzard site. hopefully they have a way around that.

Okay, I will try that. Do I need the 8 GB download to complete before I run the trial version of the game? If not, it might just be the internet, so an answer to that question here would be appreciated, since someone here already suggested that I download the Starter's Edition.

I've been trying to start the Diablo 3 game client for the first time. I just got a new internet connection, which is downloading about 500kbs/s. I had no problem downloading the game client (38mbs). When I try to start the game from there it is stuck at initializing 0.0%. Under connection information it looks like I will have to download another 8GB to try the game out.

Do you actually have to complete the 8GB download in order to run any portion of the game? Please help me on this question, because one time it looked like the status bar was shooting all the way up, but I was just closing the game client. It must have been my imagination because the other status bar was green, and this one was red. Also the client is not downloading the data. It is stuck at 64MB/ 8GB. I assume I will have to finish that 8GB download, so I won't be able to do that on my internet unless I can somehow jump start the program to start downloading, because it is not downloading at my 500kbs/s.

1)The final level will spawn only 1 enemy in the final room (uber ethereal).

2) bb2945

Well it may be possible that this only occurs when you select retry level. I'm sure someone would know the answer of hand. As Ihave yet to use teh Ethereal Device for a second time, I don't know if itwas a game breaking bug or if it is as simple as when you select retry level. it's probably time to try a new game Dishonored or Torchlight II.

2) One on my assault died, but he didn't die in the level. This one is important. the player survived the mission, but he is listed in the memorial as died, and he is gone from the 'view barracks'.

hmm thats odd. ive beaten the game twice on normal and classic ironman, and didnt experience any of that. i couldnt skip the intro both times tho, so i belive that is normal. as far as the missing enemies, i dunno, sounds like a bug. might wanna start a thread in the steam forums in the xcom eu section.

Are you sure you don't know what it is? My internet does not connect to steam, so that won't work. I don't want to play the game the whole way through again and have the same thing happen. Is there anywhere I can go to figure out if it is because of Steam updates or if it is just a common bug? The game actually crashed just before I loaded the current game, but there was no way to get back to the regular ending after that happened.

No idea, only ever seen it with 5 baddies.

I don't think there is a key press to skip cut scenes either.

Can you or someone else tell me where to go to ask on another forumn? I just noticed that the forums here are read only. Since it's a new game, are there any specific places I could look where they might have all the current information about bugs etc?

I was on the last mission, and when I get to the final room the only one that is there is the Uber Ethereal. There was no cinematic when I entered the final room.

Can anyone tell me why there was only the one enemy in the final room? Usually there are 5, 3 Ethereals and 2 Muton Elites. Is this a common bug?

Is there a way to skip the cinematics by pressing a key? So far I have not been able to skip the cinematics with esc or enter.

[QUOTE="bb2945"][QUOTE="FelipeInside"]its not that hard to build a PC but if you don't want to then you just go to.a computer shop and get them.to build you one FelipeInside
Maybe I will some day, but I don't have the resources available. The places around here might not have all the best hardware. I could figure it out by researching online, but then I'll have to worry I'm not getting the very best stuff. The video card is important, the monitor is probably important. I want to make sure the games will run smoothly as possible. RAM and CPU. What is this thing about a motherboard?

The motherboard is where everything gets connected to. The video card, RAM, CPU etc. It's also called the MAINboard cause it's exactly that, the main board where everything connects. Do a quick google search about basic PC components and concepts and u'll learn what each thing does. As for places, there isn't computer shops where you live? You can also buy a computer pre-made at shop or even online, and it arrives at ur doorstep ready to go (like a console).

There's a few game shops like futureshop and EB games. There are probably a few computer shops around, but I haven't found any around here.
