HDMI 2.1 is honestly the biggest thing I've been hoping to see on new consoles.

Having a G-Sync monitor for the past few years has been amazing & I've really been waiting for both consoles & TVs to support low-latency high-framerate variable refresh rates. So many games don't manage a locked 60fps, but this will make a huge difference in those cases.

@twogirlsonecub: I agree. This is actually the first time I've heard about any of that stuff being in the game.

It's not really my favourite genre, but from what I heard, the game was fine. Just too similar too existing games that players had already invested in.

I absolutely loved Warframe from when I started at the beginning of 2018. I don't normally like MMOs or F2P games, but it quickly became my most played game ever by a huge margin. I really burned out in 2019 though. I kept dipping back in every few weeks, but eventually I had to just stop when I realised that I didn't even want to grind through the new content that was coming out.

I think the main thing that put me off is that I spent a long time working towards having a few amazing weapons that I basically used for every mission. All the new melee updates were basically just nerfing weapons I'd put hours of work into. I understand why evening out the weapons is important, but I just didn't want to play Hydron or ESO a thousand more times to forma every weapon just because they decided to nerf my Plague Kripath build.

I'll be back for The New War, but I think will take a lot to really draw me back into the game, as much as I loved it.

I think there's definitely a danger that media moves in the direction of being scared to portray anyone negatively... except white men, of course.

What would be a great direction is to actually hire a South Asian actor to voice Apu. Allow him to make fun of himself and Indian-Americans while being in on the joke. What would be tragic is to carry on portraying Homer, Flanders, Wiggum & every other 'caucasian' man on the show with comedy & then treat every woman or minority like perfect angels. That would kill the very essence of everything good about the show & how they've been able to poke fun at society over the years.

@RaveNRolla: Magenta maybe. Red wasn't any of the colours I saw in my crystal.

@skippert: I just finished the game a couple of days ago. Never even realised there were mods :(

I would have loved a red saber

@Heartagram_03: Knowing CDPR, "ultra" will be for future GPUs that don't even exist yet.

Not really surprised. Hopefully we can get a relatively bug-free launch in September.

Gives me more time to play other games launching this year & save up for a full PC upgrade.

It's been kind of a weird year for games. Lots of good, but not amazing games. Out of all the winners, I haven't played any, except A Plague Tale, which I've just started in the last couple of days.

I think it's becoming less & less a good idea to buy games on launch (let alone pre-order), meaning I haven't actually played a lot of games that launched this year. There are some other factors, but I think many gamers have been burned too many times with games like No Man's Sky, Fallout 76 & Anthem, not to mention other disappointments like Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Even the PC launch of RDR2 needed a few weeks more in the oven. Games really need to prove themselves these days, not just rely on marketing hype.

Sure, the show has some problems, but that low score is insane.

I've played the games, but haven't read the books. Judging the show on its own merits, rather than how its story varies from other media, I'm enjoying it. It's not quite on the level of Game of Thrones, but even that show had some serious issues from the outset. I agree that the different time settings are confusing & the ageing of characters is done poorly (but that's an incredibly common issue - look at the young, beautiful Lagertha in Vikings, compared to how Ragnar ages, same again with the Queen & the Witch Hunter in See), but it's not a problem that ruins the whole show.

This review reads like an angry nerd who just wants everyone to know that he read all the books & he liked the Witcher before it was cool.
