@bingoh: Halo, sure, but RDR is developed by Rockstar, not Microsoft.
They could certainly do a better job with crossplay, but in terms of MS-made "exclusives", everything recent is available on PC as well. You may hold a grudge from the days of the 360, but they have definitely been on the right track for the past few years.
I subbed to GamePass for $1 so I could play Outer Worlds & I was actually quite impressed with the service. Forza Horizon 4 was great, Gears 5 runs well & I even gave Mutant Year Zero a jam. The month is up & they don't have anything else I really want to play, but that would be no different if I was playing on console. Their lineup of exclusives sucks, but at least they offer them all to PC as well now. As a PC gamer, I can get everything I want from Xbox without having to drop several hundred dollars on a box that's a less powerful version of something I already own. That sounds pretty good to me.
They haven't been great in the past, but you have to admit, they're going in the right direction.
@bingoh: Buy a PC & get GamePass. MS is taking care of PC gamers just fine.
There aren't a tonne of Xbox exclusives I actually want to play, but at least I know I can play them all on my PC & get as much power as I'm willing to pay for, not just what they deem is enough. I wish PlayStation would do the same.
Maybe I'll eat my words in like 5 years, when this thing has matured, but right now, Stadia is hot garbage.
Those Destiny 2 textures looked awful. They were so flat & plain. What happened to Google's amazing processing power? Maybe with too many details, it just added to many compression artifacts?
Even if it did work as advertised, it's still a terrible business model. You have to buy games at full price, but then you lose access to them if you stop paying your subscription. I don't know who this is aimed at - people who are too poor to buy a console or PC, but rich enough to have high speed internet? People who can't save their money for more than a month, because they already subscribe to three different video streaming services & two different gaming services?
If you're dumb enough to buy this now (or maybe just have way too much spare cash), I hope you enjoy paying to be a beta tester. Be honest, you pre-ordered No Man's Sky, Anthem & Fallout 76 too, didn't you? Thank you for your service. The rest of us need suckers to show us how bad these products are.
I loved Fallout 1 & 2. First person games have always been a bit harder for me to enjoy, but I'll have to check this out. I'm glad to see that some people still understand what makes a good RPG, it's a real shame what has happened to Fallout in recent years.
@blueinheaven: I think you can throw the light saber at them?
I've seen other footage that looked a bit more impressive than this. Maybe you unlock different abilities & learn to chain combos together as the game goes on.
The first Witcher was a little clunky, but it's take on morality with shades of grey as opposed to black & white will always be memorable. It's certainly dated now, but it's not any worse than other CRPGs of it's time.
The Witcher 2 was a great game. It had memorable characters & challenging combat if you cranked the difficulty up. It was bold enough to have completely different third acts, depending on which side you chose, rewarding a second playthrough.
Both games have their faults, but I don't think it's commonly agreed that they are bad games. You can believe what you like, but for me, those games definitely don't suck.
