I'm not a huge fan of Randy Pitchforks but I kinda agree with him on this one. Review bombing, especially for older games which are actually very good, is stupid.
What people are doing is not a review for Borderlands 2 or useful information for anyone wanting to play Borderlands 2. Vent your frustrations on Twitter or Reddit or something. Leave reviews to people who actually have something useful to say about the game.
@Dilandau88: You're clearly a console gamer. Steam customers gave up their rights to re-sell a long time ago because the benefits outweigh the costs for most people.
@Derpalon: I have some problems with this too but allow me to play Devil's Advocate...
Plenty of games are already tied to online services. You can buy games like Destiny of The Division & if their respective developers or publishers decide to take the servers offline in 10 years, there's not much you can do. Single player games are a different story but there are already less & less of those around. You could still buy those in the normal fashion & use the subscription service for games you're less concerned about keeping.
Mods are a real problem, I'll give you that one. The ability for consumers to apply approved mods (paid or otherwise) isn't so difficult but without local files, the mod creators are going to have real trouble.
I don't think it's a solution in search of a problem. Music & video streaming services have shown us that there is a real consumer desire for a convenient way to consume content. Also that they're willing to pay a reasonable price, rather than pirate it. The real key is to have everything in one place. If there's a fragmented market, most people don't want to pay for three different subscriptions just to watch all the shows they like.
The next benefit is that there is a real barrier to entry for many potential gamers. If you don't own the right console or if your hardware is out of date, or maybe you can't afford the hardware at all, a monthly fee can break that barrier to entry. Now you don't have to spend several hundred dollars on a machine & you don't have to spend another $60+ every time a game you like comes out - you just pay the set fee. In addition to this, there's the likelihood that more people will give a game a try when they otherwise wouldn't buy it. Indie games could potentially get a big boost from this service.
Anyway, that's my Devil's Advocate pitch. I'd like to see how you counter these points because I think there are arguments for both sides.
@rodoxthedark: Streaming won't take up that much of the compute power. They'll have separate systems dedicated to encoding & streaming - that can be done entirely on the CPU & won't require GPU resources.
They've said that they will continue to upgrade the hardware. It's not going to stay the same for 5 years or more.
I don't what a lot of anime but the first season of Psycho Pass was excellent. There were still a few classic anime tropes like over-the-top violence but it was good to see a show about actual adult characters.
I really loved these shows to begin with. Daredevil was a gritty, more realistic show that felt grounded. Jessica Jones & Luke Cage started off great too.
Unfortunately they kinda lost their way. I stopped watching the latest Daredevil season after about 7 eps & I haven't touched the latest Punisher offering. Maybe there are just too many of them & I'm feeling burned out on super heroes or maybe the storytelling has gone downhill. Hard to say, but I've completely lost interest.
I'm pretty sure Ghost Recon: Wildlands use both on the same weapon. Sniper rifles don't have any drop off up to a certain distance, then is suddenly increases quite rapidly. Exactly one notch on the scope, funnily enough.
