Not sure if your post was intended to cover just USA, but here in the UK I have justed purchased a 3 month subscription for £6.00.
I've been a subscriber for several years, but let it expire a few months ago. Still got the deal though. Just FYI, in case people in UK have may have same option as I had.
@Warlord_Irochi: Well... maybe you're correct, but let me put it to you this way. There are a million different tarrifs that go alonside mobile phone contracts, noone really knows which is the best deal. And, you may be surprised to learn, that's exactly the point of so many tarrifs.Strangley though, all mobiles are designed to make calls! Begining to look that way with MT's, or cosmetics or loot boxes or buying some with ingame money, or some can be earned in game or ....... So to answer you. Know really knows, at least it's getting that way. But hey, I wouldn't dream of insulting your intelligence, but that's just me.
@swatleader: If I start to feel there aren't plenty of great games to play that don't contain MT's, then I will reconsider my options. At the moment, I don't think I've missed any of the best games, because the true dedicated professionals, that make MT free games clearly have a passion for games too, not just profit. That shines in their games and attitude to MT's. But yeah, you're probably correct. Far cry 5 won't make my collection :)
@NonEdibleCheese: That's your perspective, and as far as MT's not going away, you could be correct. Where I don't agree with you is the reasons people choose or don't choose to purchase MT's. I really don't think it's a question of money or time. Well, certainly not in my case. I am strongly against MT's for several reasons, but one is how they will ultimately effect game play mechanics. We are already seeing Devs and publishers link game progression to loot boxes. If you strip away all the camouflaging, MT's are designed primarily, to make money - which they do. They are not included primarily, to give options. Personally, I only purchase games that contain no MT's, although some level of purely cosmetic purchases, can be acceptable. So far, and I accept this may change, I haven't missed out on any of the best games. My next purchase will be SOD2. Above all, I'm a gamer, and so respect your opinion as a fellow gamer.
@anthonyisanokayguy: I agree, we hear far too much about MT's. However, let's not forget who started it. And, it wasn't the gamers, in case anyone was wondering. I for one am extremely pleased when a dev lets me know in advance. That way I'm not trawling the internet for answers. Until it's printed on every game box, I'll be happy for the heads up.
I have to say, in spite of many comments to the contrary, I don't think multi-player in games is inherently bad. Still, whatever your thoughts on the subject I'll bet CD Projekt Red will produce a superb single player experience without MT's! Absolute stars in my book.
Staring 'Loot skywalker'. C'mon EA, many people are not buying into the MT crap. Why not have a word with CD projekt red. Maybe they can give you some FREE advice. Don't let us down, because who doesn't enjoy a good Star Wars game, right?
Pleased to see Rare receive some measure of success, if only for trying something different. Maybe it'll turn out to be a great game in a years time, who knows?
