Because when you put down money to buy the console, then you are paying for those stuff that don't align with you...people don't like paying for things they don't use
But perhaps people are reluctant to shell out money for things they don't want...they would like to pay money to pay to play games, but not for all the other stuff they won't use...
Ah I see...so it's digital content vs physical right? Or rather, digital on your own disc vs digital on your account...
I would be so curious how a lawsuit would work out given the informations we have...basic consumer rights are respected in some parts of the world, and some courts might even ban the XBox if there are no satisfactory consumer rights
