The Bad: Part VII

Is that a telephone pole in the middle of my car? Sure is.

I can forgive a glitch here and there, but with Vice City Stories for the PSP they are everywhere. On more than one occasion I've driven through where a safehouse is supposed to be only to get stuck in it. In the case of the picture above I was trying to cross the median when the pole spawned while I was in the middle of it. Saint's Row was another of those glitch-filled games that I'm sure would have been a lot of fun if it didn't crash on me every 20-30 minutes.

I don't really have anything else here other to complain, but when I shell out good money for a game, I expect it to 'work' especially when I can't return it for the full value I paid.

DVDs No.345-346

I added a couple more DVDs to my collection this week:

No. 345 -- Hoodwinked

The story of Little Red Riding Hood gets a few interesting twists and some well earned laugh-out-loud moments. It's a good movie for a fairytale. My only problem with the movie is that the quality of the animation is horrible -- it's distracting really.

Rating: B-

DVD No. 346 -- Charlie Wilson's War

Based on a true story, this film follows the exploits of a Congressional Representative from Texas (Tom Hanks) who uses his political connections to coverty support Afghanistan's resistance of the Soviet threat.

Grade: B+

BewareTheHorns

DVDs No.338-344

Over the past few weeks I've picked up a number of new movies, but I haven't had the time to post so I'm going to do them all in one quick and easy entry.

#338 -- The Good Shepherd

The Good Shepherd follows Edward Wilson (Matt Damon) through his days at Yale, life as a husband and father, and trials as an OSS Operative. Be warened that this film runs for 169-minutes and while the pace is slow, the time passes quickly as you're busy trying to figure out if anything is what it seems.

Grade: B

#339 -- Donnie Brasco

Johhny Depp plays an undercover FBI agent who befriends a mob hitman (Al Pacino) inorder to infiltrate a local organized crime syndicate. Depp's character soon finds himself identifying more with his life as a mobster which places a great strain on his marriage, job, and self-image.

Grade: B+

#340 -- Juno

Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) is a cool-headed quick-witted teenager who finds herself facing an unplanned pregnancy. With the support of friends and family Juno decides the best thing she can do is find capable and loving parents for the child she carries.

Grade: A

More and more people are find true love on the internet, but when Lars finds his true love in the form of a life-sized love doll that he ordered off the net his loving and concerned family enlists the help of Lars' co-workers, friends, and community to help Lars get through his delusion.

Grade: B+

#342 -- Wild Things

A high school counselor is framed by two of his students for the crime of rape, but with dozens of twists and turns along the story line: obviously nothing is as it seems.

I'm Back

Things have been moving at a breakneak pace the past couple of weeks. My first week on the job went well, but I had trouble with both the flight to California and back. When I did get back to Detroit on 4/5 at 7am I went right to a UHAUL center, loaded up my things and moved to Lansing -- which is where the midwest office is. So, for the past week and a half I've been unpacking, cleaning, running to the store twice a day, and ofcourse: working. I didn't even get Comcast in here for my internet/cable 'til late on the 11th. But things are starting to settle down: I'm hoping to catch up on some blogs and perhaps post a new video. I've been having quite the dry spell because no new games have come out. I am anxiously awaiting GTA IV, but with work I'm not sure how quickly I'm gonna be able to pound out a video review.

For now I have to get going and cover 105-miles in Rush Hour traffic for a little meet-and-greet.

The Good: Part IV

I'm starting a new job on Monday and I was just informed of a slight change of plans: they are sending me to the company HQ in southern California for a few days for my orientation.

Goodbye Michigan and it's 35 degree highs, hello 80 degrees in sunny California. If only for a few days.

The Good: Part III

I've heard the rumors for a few months now about every episode of South Park being available online -- for free! -- and it's finally available.

Head on over to SouthParkStudios.com where you can view every South Park episode (even the newest of 'em) for nothing.

I can only hope this type of thing catches on.
