So, I'm on my way to becoming the most popular videogame writer in the world. Well, not really. But, I am doing some freelance writing for this videogame website, That Video Game Blog. My first article was just put up today, you know you should go check it out. You can at the link below.
So, I miss this place. Well, not so much this place, but the people I've know here. I'm still mad at CNET for what they did to Jeff. And its depressing that so many of the great Gamespotters have been leaving. But, I've found some of them together at GiantBomb.com. You should go and check them out. Right now, its just a blog site, but they are working on their website that will be going up sometime this summer.
Also, in other gaming news I'm now an Xbox360 owner. I was tired of not be part of the "next gen" so I went ahead and got one, even though I've been unemployed for the past three months (thats a story for another day). You can see my gamercard thing off to the side. Yes, you can befriend me, as I am on Xbox live, I haven't played online yet, but I will...sometime. Anyways, thats all for now. Until next time.
As the title says I'm leaving Gamespot.com. This whole thing with Jeff Gerstmann and honestly some annoying things going on around here have pushed me to my limits. I will be leaving my account open though, as there may be a time someday that I will return. But, for now I'm moving on to 1up.com.
If you want to keep in contact with me on other parts of the web email me at bizsumpark182@gmail.com and I'll tell you where you can find me. Well, goodbye for now....
Staff members from the Ziff Davies game group and most notably the 1up staff made a rallying march accross a few blocks in san francisco in front of the cnet buildings to support jeff gerstmann and the integrity of other reviewers in the games industry.
Patrick Klepik news editor from 1up said:
"Even though 1UP and GameSpot are competition, what's happening over there includes industry-wide ramifications, when the dust finally settles."
Despite being competitors and looking like theyre trying to stir up the anti cnet musings it shows a great amount of solidarity that they would support fellow reviewers in trouble.
Here are some pictures of the event
The "we support fellow game reviewers" banner

Kathleen Sanders, producer of the 1up show, holding up the banner
Michael Donahoe blowing a horn

Jeremy Parish applauding their efforts
You can expect this thursdays 1up show to show a live version of events. Its a great sign of the editorial proffesion taht reviewers will forget their differances and support their peers. Its an ominous correlation with what we saw prior to the writers guild strike.
Well, I've been gone for a bit once again. This time due to work, being with family, black friday and feeling like crap. But, like the title above says, this is not what I wanted to comeback to.
Today I find news that Jeff Gerstmann has been fired. And not because of something like; smoking crack or stealing office supplies or something. But because he gave his honest opinion of a game. That is just disgracful! And I for one am strongly considering giving up my subscription to Gamespot and leaving Gamespot altogether. What would be the point of being a member of a site that bases its reveiws on how much money that are getting from the publishers?
I've got some decisions to make.
Until next time...
UPDATE:
I've canceled my Gamespot Plus subscription. No way this company is getting anymore money from me unless we get answers that make sense.
UPDATE 2:
I checked metacritic for averages for Kane & Lynch and here is what I found:
68 avg from critics and a 24 avg from users.
Hmm...seems most people think the game sucks.
Whats goin on everyone? I know I haven't been around. I've been busy with life pretty much. I've been working on developing as a photographer, working and of course gaming. Other then that honestly there isn't much going on.
Although I do have a new project that I have started and would like you to check out. Its called ANOTH3R GAM3R, and it is basically another gamer's blog. I've always liked to write and I'm trying to combine that with my love of videogames and writing and create some quality reading for gamers.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out, and maybe I can start on creating a little community or something...I don't know. Anyways go check it out. ANOTH3R GAM3R
Also, if your interested with getting in touch with me outside of Gamespot let me know and I'll tell you where you can find me.
Until next time...
Well, as 99.9% of you should know I started my new job at Northrop Grumman this week. For the most part everything has gone pretty well. Its been a bit boring for most of the week. Mostly due to not having anything to work on for two days. It seems that the day I started working on the Wolverine project they found some issues with the way things were being done. So they spent the next couple of days working up layouts and solving problems. In the end we ended up having to redo everything we had worked on, not too bad for me but really bad for others.
Other then those couple of days I really like it there. I'm around people I can actually associate with. And I have my own cubicle which is in the far back corner of the room I'm in, so I'm with people yet secluded as well. And the computer I work on is an HP not a Dell, yay!
Oh yea, and one more thing, I don't have internet on my computer....so at least for now, no online for me.
Nothing else to talk about though....so yea. Until next time...
