How about this. Parents stop letting TV and video games babysit their kids. M rated games are M rated for a reason. Instead of parking your kids in front of the tube, and raising entitled pricks that have a psychological breakdown when they're told no, you could try parenting. Just throwing that out there.

@mrNamename Just like cars kill people, and knives kill people, and hammers kill people, and blah, blah, blah. I've never seen a hammer leap off of my workbench and beat someone to death. Just like I've never seen my 45. leap from my hand and go on a shooting spree.

@gufberg @cmat35 I for one am more than happy to support the firearms industry. I am a gamer AND a gun enthusiast. Where I come from firearms are a way of life. We use them for fun, and to feed our families. In addition, the reason you are able to voice your opinion is because someone with a gun defended your right to do so. Btw, the Israeli military uses the Galil rifle, which is a redesign of the Russian AK 47 and is manufactured in Israel.

@Janpieterzun It's not so much that Fable is a bad game. More than anything, it's mislabeled. It's advertised and pushed as an rpg, which it's not. In my opinion, it's an action adventure game with some rpg elements. Anyone looking for a "true" rpg experience is going to be disappointed. If you ignore Molyneux's hype and play it for what it is, which is essentially Zelda meets Monty Python, it can be fun.

I would assume that the polls being referred to were probably taken in Japan and certain areas of Europe, where Sony has done very well in the past. I'm going to predict that competition in the U.S. and other Western countries will be fairly close. Microsoft dominated North American markets with the 360, but Sony's shift towards Western style games will bring a level of parity between the two. In all, I think this will be a successful and profitable console cycle for both companies.

Remember when loudmouthed douchebags couldn't hide behind their keyboards and just had to take their ass whoopin? I'd compare Redsyrup and Downloadthefile to the shitpiles at the Westboro Baptist Church, but those assholes at least have the balls to use their real names, and spew their shit to peoples faces.

In actuallity it appears as though you are the stupid one. According to U.S. Census data and the FCC, approximately 20 million Americans, or 6 percent of the population, have no access to broadband internet. Many people complaining about lack of internet do so from smartphones, which are data capped, and therefore useless for gaming online. In the future, you might want to remove your head from your rectum long enough to do a little research before you decide to make an ass of yourself in a public space.

For digital gaming to be accepted, first and foremost there has to be an infrastucture to support it. In the US there are still millions that don't have access to broadband service. Second , there has to be an incentive to embrace it. By removing the overhead of manufacturing, distribution, and physical inventory, digital gaming saves publishers vast amounts of money. That savings should be reflected in the retail model. Finally, the business axiom of "find a need and fill it" should be respected. Currently there is simply not the demand for exclusively digital gaming. When publishers can offer a compelling reason as to how this will improve the consumers experience, people will be more inclined to come aboard . As it stands, gamers see digital distribution as just another way to squeeze out more cash from a consumer group that is already being dollared to death.

Trust me, you're not too old. I see middle aged hipsters come through my tattoo shop all day. Pretty much everything you've described about yourself fits the bill. Let's see. Self described "retro" gamer, check. Arbitrary avoidance of mainstream culture, check. Name dropping an obscure game that few have even heard of, check. Managing to slip in "noobs couldn't handle it". That's just extra credit. Do you happen to watch anime while declaring how pedestrian American entertainment is? Do you own one or more Apple products? Ride a scooter perhaps? Btw, I'm older than you so the middle age remark isn't meant for you. Not trying to make fun, but you would be amazed how many hipsters have no idea that they are.
