@mogan: "Don't insult people for not sharing your opinion"
I´m sorry but... How did I insult people? I´m talking about ME3, the most stupid game I ever played in my entire life... Which is obviously my opinion.
"stop trying to pick a fight"
I reply to a reply. And remember... "Haters gonna hate." Is the typical "i don´t have arguments" reply.
@mogan: ME1 is the best ME, ME2 is the most fun ME and ME3 is an insult to the previous two. To call it a ME game is per se an insult... But as always the argument to defend such claim is awesome... Trump level... "ME3 is the best ME game, and awesome ME game, so awesome that is awesome..."
@Dilandau88: "and the last 15 minutes of the final game"
Well, I know the last 15 minutes will go in history as one of the most stupidest endings of all time but no... this game (ME3) is deeply stupid and has no consistency from the start...
"so the remaining 299 hours and 45 minutes are bad too?"
I´m not saying they are bad... but all previous story becomes shallow and with no real value or logic.
"Great logic."
That´s my reaction to the end of the game... Hehe...
"It's one of the most beloved franchises and stories in the history of video games."
It was...
"Haterz gonna hate."
And suckers gonna suck... Well... You know what I mean... Art...
@LVT_PTA_PB: "But life will or has been tough for everyone of us."
Of course... And that's what we want more...a reminder of the day to day pain...oh wait...
The idea behind a movie/story is like a melody, and that melody can be soft, aggressive, funny, and on on. The right notes are in the ear of the listener. Not everyone can have the same experience, and that's the beauty of choice. More choice, more experiences to choose from.
"We're not saying superhero movies shouldn't exist."
You know the funny thing, superhero movies were always on the making. Comic superheroes movies is what people are complaining now, but... John Matrix is a super hero, John Rambo, John McClane, Indiana Jones, Max Rockatansky, James Bond, Ethan Hunt, John Wick, and on and on are also "superheros"
Ok, not in the normal sense of the "superhero", but on their more than a normal human actions/results. So maybe, the problem is deeper on the mind of the critics, because nowadays is easy to criticize super hero movies.
"Now I don't remember Captain America's movies, but there's probably a good reason why, also."
In your mind I'm sure... I like all superhero movies, some more than others obviously, but Cap movies are my favourite from the MCU. And the reason is the naive depth I wrote before.
The little thing you called "solved magically by the joy of the winter holiday or by valentine's day", or in this case, the honorable man who is good. Good VS Evil, and yes, the good wins, even when losing sometimes.
I don´t believe in shades of grey, so personally my joy is to see good winning the battle against evil. Real life is not that way? Sure. If I just wanted to see real life I would see real life, not cinema.
"If you only live by entertainment, it's your deal."
Entertainment is the main essence of cinema, it´s an art that can be expressed in several ways. A terror movie is entertainment, a drama is entertainment, a thriller is entertainment...
"But don't criticize those who have a deeper relationship with movies and know when a movie is not showing signs of depth."
So... Like Scorsese you think to know better than other persons the essence of movies, or as you call it "deeper relationship with movies"...
I have 37 years, I saw "tons" of movies... Yet I wouldn't dare to say that I have deeper relationship with movies than anyone here on the comment section. And you know why? Because the relationship you are talking about , it's a personal feeling, and it can only be measured by yourself on a scale where there's only you.
"And now Joker released last october. It was a very, very good movie. I think you forgot we can still appreciate superhero movies."
Funny thing... I loved the Joker movie, Joaquin Phoenix superb performance. Yet, I wouldn't call it a superhero movie. I respect the label, but I disagree.
@LVT_PTA_PB: "But, to me, it's really about depth. There aren't any in the Marvel movies."
Depth... Well, I see a lot of depth, especially in Captain America movies. A naive depth, but thats the way I like it. So... Tastes.
"And one of the worst thing about MCU is that the producers don't want to kill any single one character."
It's interesting how some people see depth only in pain, sorrow and death... There is the other side of the coin, but I guess only the dark side has attraction...
@nikolistary: Let's begin for the last part: "You sir, are a fanboy." Undoubtedly. I really like Naughty Dog games.
"by the way you dummy, how do you expect me to take you seriously if you don't even know how to type correctly"
Because I know that you are such a clever person that by now you realize that English is not my mother language. I would love to write in Portuguese, but I have a feeling you wouldnt understand a word. So, sorry my bad English, but don´t make excuses behind that...
"my point is that it's a retread of old formulas"
And what I told you is that this kind of logic can be used against all games.
"It's incredibly overrated."
Well... To me and many others is a masterpiece.
"Perfect pacing? Hardly."
The pacing of the game is perfectly balanced with the storyline. The main idea of the game is not to rush the journey, is to live it. And you can do that in any minor task or line of dialogue.
"All the points I made you simply deflected like a Trump voter."
That´s insulting... But I´m not taking you seriously...
"TLOU IS just like Far Cry 3, and it's just like Manhunt."
Ok. Let's get technical. TLOU is as different of FC3 as Manhunt. Only a "gameplay" gamer would say something so trite as that.
Manhunt has it´s focus on the grotesque of violence. The main protagonist is an "actor" until the last part of the game. It's revenge, hate and survival in a mix that truly never binds you with anyone.
FC3 has its focus on the adrenaline of violence. The show of pure action in an uncontrolled ambience. The thing I like the most is the islands ambience. But again, the game doesn't binds you with anyone, it has a weak narrative, your friends are mere plot devices. It´s an awesome game, but it´s main focus is always on the gameplay (wich is normal in a FC game). Do you ever felt remorse for killing the pirates? LOL
TLOU takes you (me... not you obviously) to the deepest pain of mortality. Parenthood. It shows you the evil in men (as so many other games and movies and series) but does that with a perfect crafted story. It´s not in the innovation of themes but in its presentation. A perfect balance between story, themes, acting and ambience.
"it's funny to think so many people who love this game only played it once."
And yet talk about this game as one of the best ever made... Interesting right? I´m going to play TLOU again in the next months, preparing for the arrival of TLOU2.
I was waiting not "because it's a depressing slog to return to", but because I want to feel as much as possible the same thing I felt the first time I played. One thing is sure... those doctors will die again... LOL
And yes... "One thing we DO have in common:" We both agree FC3 is a fun game.
@nikolistary: "How so? By writing a detailed response?"
A detailed response? You simplify a game using parts of other games and adapting your logic at your favor. It´s a kid play. You can use that same logic to any game, new or old.
"TLoU 2 is trite. It's a fact. Not an opinion."
A fact o you, a stupidity to any one with a brain. TLOU is by far one of the best games ever crafted. It´s focus is on storytelling, perfect pacing, amazing acting sound and graphics. And you compare TLOU with FC3? How do you want to be taken seriously?
I played FC3 more than 5 times, TLOU only one time. I have fun playing FC3 but the feelings that TLOU gave are unexplainable.
"Go back and play Manhunt from Rockstar Games. It's the same thing. Just with more bleeding heart emotional content."
LOL... I played both Manhunt games, the first more than 3 times. It´s a great game but... I´m losing my time, for some reason you don´t like TLOU, so you are ready to say whatever to make a point, even if it makes no logic at all.
