I would not compare the two things... there is no real character evolution to achieve that excessive turn...

She had family, but she never had happiness. That can only happen now. Ellie needed to find first: enlightenment, accept Joel's death and start a redemption path.

The second time is way better. There is no urgency to return to Ellie, that allows Abby path to become more clear, and at the same time Ellie's path becomes ten times more relevant...

I agree but I also disagree... To me most actions are black and white. The difference is that in this game there is a background and a justification to most actions. And by knowing them the perception of right and wrong becomes blur... the so called grey... But ultimatly, we know that what Abby did and what Ellie did fits perfectly in the black side of the equation.

The end result is important, but the process to that end result is also very important. That´s what differentiates a good person from a bad person...
