By the way - I don't have the expansion pack. Can I still install the mods? = Also would it be better to play that mod after I've completed it first - or after?I would suggest you to download this brilliant modification, which made the game 10x more fun for me:

I got Medieval 2 Total War and was wondering if there were any mods worth downloading before I play the actual game - either ones that fix bugs or enhance it.If anyone could help that would be great.
[QUOTE="E3RIE"]You can try to get him into the total war games, they can be fun if played the right waybrobot69
Thats a pretty good suggestion actually. I was trying to think of something to get him thats a bit different then what he usually plays (games like silkroad and rappelz, and similar games that I dont know the name of). I think I might gifta total war campaign or twoto him on steam and still buy him the guildwars trilogy so he has something to open under the tree.
I also looked at ddo a bit, it seems that I could buy him "content packs" and a few thousand "points" and he could play everything andI wouldnt have to worry about monthly fees as he could earn points in game while playing apparentlyand buy content thats released later with that and the initial points I'd buy him.
But then there would be nothing to open. I'll have to think about it. I've been looking around and there doesnt seem to be much in the way ofoptions anywhere for pre-paid mmorpgs.
I played guild wars for about 6 months up unti; recently, however it's a bit too late and was when I started. It's a fantastic game, however I don't think your nephew would enjoy it as much as it's been out so late, which was how I felt. It's up to you,however competitive pvp is dead and most people are just trying to max out titles in preparation for GW2. GW2 is set for late 2010/early 2011, which will be amazing and would probably satisfy him for over a year - however its quite far away.Hey, sorry if I'm late into this but the THQ pack is £26, I just saw this deal and have never played any of the games. I am short on money at the moment, but looking for games to last for a while and this package looks to good to pass up. So is this deal worth it? Will it last me long? Which games are good/not so good and why?
I would appreciate it if anyone could help,
Thanks =)
[QUOTE="blueflame8"]Hey, I just recently bought the orange box and made an account on steam, then began installing it and it was fine. I know my connection is slow yet I am downloading it now and it seems to be taking forever! My connection is not too good, yet the speed is usually under 20KB/s. And I'm just downloading the half life 2 first, not the other ones. So am I doing something wrong, -> Its taken about an hour and a half to do 7%! The thing that may possibly be a reason is when signing up I chose the 'DSL>Cable 2M'. Now this may be wrong as I'm unsure - I use a wireless connection and so there wasn't an option. Please help! ThanksIbnLaAhad
You can change your speed in the settings thing I think. What speed is it downloading at? Traffic is usually VERY high at night. Steam could be overloaded as well.
I just changed it to another option and now it is going at 59 KB which is good, I was thinking about leaving my laptop on over night, would this be ok to do so, or do you think I should pause it and then resume it when I come home tomorrow and do the same?
