[QUOTE="blueflame8"]

Hey, I'm looking to buy my new laptop this weekend after researching for a long time. I'm not going to be doing too intensive gaming but its got a radeon 4670 included so I should be alright for games I do play. I do have two questions, if anyone could answer it would be really helpful. Please bare in mind I don't know a lot about pc hardware.

1.What's the difference between the Intel Core 2 duo P7450 (2.13Ghz, 3MB, 1066MHz) and Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T6600 (2.2GHz, 800MHz, 2MB)?

- Is there a noticeable difference when gaming? Or is it ok I get the T6600 (the cheaper one).

2. Also what's the difference between the 720p WLED and the 1080p WLED screen in terms of gaming? Does the 720p still look good if I just get that ? (It's cheaper) - it's on a 15.6" screen btw.

- Just in case you're wondering its a dell studio xps 16 I'm getting =)

Many thanks to all who answer my questions =)

No don't get a studio XPS! You see the studio XPS suffers from a poor cooling design :x. The whole laptop will get uncomfortably hot, and your battery life will suffer from this as well :(. I'd suggest getting an Asus or an HP laptop instead ;)

I've heard lots of people say it does not get hot too! And for the UK I think this is one of the best specs for its price.

i was just thinking of getting into free to play mmorpg they look fun and most importantly cheap i mean let's just face it world of warcraft is just too expensive

so what do you guys think oh and maybe put ur faveorite down

Ironfist66
Free MMORPGs can still be pretty good, I used to play Shaiya which I thought was amazing, although it does get slightly grindy right towards the end. There's a lot of people playing that game and pvp is a blast (well it was before I stopped). I then moved to Guild wars and although it was great, the community in high end PvP was almost non existant, as well as too many people that had already completed it - which sort of ruined it for me. I would recommend Shaiya, feel free to ask any questions about it if you want^^

If you are looking to play games like Borderlands and Dragon Age then you'd already be behind..

Aww really, in what way? (I really wanted to buy both of them). I know laptops shouldn't be used for gaming and it's a lot more expensive, yet I need one and was hoping that it could play (not too intensive) games on medium settings in the few years to come. Do you think that would be possible with this one?

What's the price on this?

MassApocalypse

About 796 pounds including VAT + Delivery. -

So you're saying you're willing to spend 1,300 American dollars for a POS?

Check out CyberpowerPC.com, or iBUYpower.com if you can't build your own tower, you'll be pleased with what you can get for that amount.

Plus free shipping. ;)

Also what's POS? =D

Thats a laptop hes talkin about,, pretty good deal if u ask me and nice specs.

MassApocalypse

Can get a better laptop from both of those sites with higher specs, and cheaper price.

MGS4 was awesome btw. ;)

Could you please link the better laptop with higher specs, I don't know a lot about hardware. Also do they ship to the UK?

EDIT: Aww, I just found out they don't. But would you say this specific laptop would be quite good for gaming? I'm not going to buy too intensive games (Crysis,GTA4), or is there a laptop with better specs with the same price around?

Thanks

That's what I'm saying, the price is probably outrageous for the hardware.

MassApocalypse
Is that expensive for its specs? I sort of need a laptop for uni soon.
