Here's the specs:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P7450 (2.13Ghz, 3MB, 1066MHz)

Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English

Black Leather back cover : 15.6" (inch) Truelife 720p HD WLED Edge to Edge Display

1GB ATI® Radeon™ HD 4670 graphics card

4096MB 1067MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x2048]

How good is this for general gaming ?- I'm not looking for the highest settings, medium will do fine. I'm not looking at ultra intensive games either e.g. Crysis/MW2/GTA 4 (I'll leave that for my 360).

I'm thinking about games like Borderlands/Dragon Age Origins/ games in the future.

Also, how long do you think the Radeon HD 4670 will be able to run games at medium detail for?

Thanks

[QUOTE="zomglolcats"][QUOTE="blueflame8"]Thanks, so its like matchmaking then, where I can randomnly find people? I know it may have been a stupid question, but I looked everywhere and couldn't find any specific comments on it. Also, any know if you can type in a chatbox during the game, as I don't have a mic? - May be another stupid question =/

You should be able to, but I can't tell you for sure as I don't own the game. But I don't think I've played a modern FPS that didn't have text chat.

Thanks, that would be great if it had in game chat =)

Hey, I've got some issues i'm a bit concerned about and so hope you could answer my questions before I decide to buy borderlands.

1. My most important question - If I don't have any specific friends getting borderlands, can I still do coop? I heard this is essentially what makes the game good and would love to do coop, so am I able to search for people playing the game around the same level andsimply join there's? Like a sort of matchmaking system with random players?

2.If the answer to Question 1 was yes, for the PC is there a chatbox to type into when playing borderlands? - So I can communicate with others without a mic?

3. Is it compatible with windows 7? - I'm getting a new Pc soon with this installed.

4. Can a intel core 2 duo 2.13 ghz processer with a ATI 4670 graphics card and 4 gig ram, run this game well? And on what details?

Sorry for the amount of questions, yet if anyone could take the time to answer them - who already has the game,I would appreciate it very much!

Thanks again!

Hmm its difficult. They both look pretty good, yet orange box seems to be very popular. Can I ask what makes the orange box so good? Theres loads of positive opinions on it, yet I'm not sure what about it makes people like it? The gameplay?

MrWednesday14
Orange box is popular for a reason. First off Portal is a unique puzzle/shooter. One of a kind in terms of gameplay. Not only that it's got great dialogue, atmosphere, and story. The only downside is it's short length. Then you have the Half-Life 2 series. It's basically the run-and-gun shooter perfected. Lots of fun gameplay, with good graphics (if you they aren't "modern" enough for you well you sir are a MASSIVE graphic whore), and one of the most engrossing stories and atmospheres ever implemented in games. It also has the most refined and realistic characters. Think Halo except twice as good. Finally TF2 provides the multiplayer element. Like Portal the game is unlike any other game in it's genre. It's a class-based game, that focuses heavily on teamwork. It's noob-friendly (but still requires skill to be good), got great cartoony graphics (which I don't think will be an issue for you b/c you are considering Borderlands), a humourous atmosphere, and it's loads of fun. Oh and also it gets free DLC every month (good DLC too). In conclusion if you like shooters the Orange Box is still easily the best deal you can get. And this is coming from a guy who's extremely excited about Borderlands.

Thanks, well explained =)

Ok I've got a compromise, seeing as orange box and borderlands can both be played online, ill get these two first. Once I've completed borderlands and completely done all i can, ill sell it and buy dragon age: origins. =)

I'm just about to begin PC gaming, for the first time =)

I've already decided I'll be getting dragon age: Origins when I get my new laptop. So can only pick one more - I know orange box is cheaper now, but I am only getting one more for now.

Orange Box seems really good from reviews, especially as I have never played the half-life series before. The only problem for me is that it came out a while ago so compared to today's games, does it still keep up? e.g. graphics/gameplay in half life 2 and activeness of TF2.

Borderlands seems to be turning out to be quite good too, and its 'modern'.

So what do you think I should pick and why, in terms of longetivity, fun, gameplay etc.

Many thanks to any who reply.

Dragon Age: Is an RPG that focuses on storyline, character development and choices and consequences. Please note that DA is a CRPG, it is supposed to resemble old classic crpgs like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment and Fallout. If you did not enjoy them then think before you buy

Borderlands: Is an action oriented RPG probably little to no choices. (like Diablo)

Depends entirely on your choice.

Gamerz1569

The thing is I'm new to PC gaming and have never played any of those games.
