Time magazine shouldn't be taken as a credible anything, more of a provocative publication, when their constantly shrinking subscriptions start to dip too much, they release one of these "controversial lists"
@gamingqueen @bluefox755 By the way, I admittedly misjudged you as a fringe feminist, while you may share the ideas, it seems you are willing to listen to others, without resorting to name calling as many do in such discussions, so I apologize for judging too quickly.
@gamingqueen @bluefox755 social issues and economic issues are a little different. I think everyone should have unalienable and equal constitutional rights and civil liberties, blacks, whites, women, men, everyone. My argument is, that while government is well intentioned, government has grown into an unsustainable amorphous blob that I believe will collapse under it's increasingly faster growing size and control, corporate welfare is bad, should never exist, but the safety net is no longer just a safety net. I simply argue, that while government, is well meaning, they don't know when to stop, they do alot of good, but they just keep going, too much is never enough, which I would argue causes more harm than good, I believe the individual is a strong idea, I think it has been forgotten though. And lets be honest, the litigious age we live in, if you feel you are treated unfairly, you can have lawyers lining up ready to work on contingency. I guess what I'm saying is that the polarization has gotten out of control, would you be willing to meet somewhere in the middle, not compromising your civil liberties, but the way to achieve them. I am assuming, perhaps incorrectly that you think government should take care of alot of things in our lives, I think government impedes progress and should be shrunk drastically. However I feel like until we get more folks on both sides that are willing to meet somewhere in the middle, the polarization and the stalemate in washington will continue.
What amazes me is how everyone looks to government for the answer, they are politicians, not oracles, they often know less than you and I about the issues.
@MXVIII @gargungulunk government doesn't have a reputation for being efficient, or even good, at anything, generally causes more problems than it fixes.
