I'm shocked no one got a bit suspicious when they saw a chopped down tree on the sidewalk at night...

Cause developers have adopted this mindset that quantity is better than quality. Nowadays, it really is all about seeing what prior game was successful and making many sequels or knockoffs. Basically, for those who don't play a lot of MMOs, it's the same way reason why the MMO genre has become so stagnate. Developers saw that WoW was successful, and since then, there have been many " WoW clones" hoping to repeat its success. I feel console developers are slowly getting to that point where every game of every genre loses its identity because developers have tried imitate past successes instead of gamble and take on new risk and challenges. It's a lot more profitable for them to stick to what is known instead of try the unknown. Yet, it's not entirely their fault. We as gamers keep buying the same crap over and over, and we have lost our standards as to what makes a good game. For example, if you put online multiplayer in any game, it's probably half-way to being a winner to most people, gameplay and story be damned. Developers have picked up on this as well, so they aren't ashamed to keep doing it. They realize our expectations of a gamer these days is pretty low, so mediocrity isn't something they aren't ashamed of.

I don't think that they are. Games have been using them for a while now. And usually when done right, are fantastic ways to add narration to a game. Having said that though, I think the problem lately is that some developers are just overusing them at the expense of gameplay. I actually think there's something else killing games, but that's another topic.

I'm not a nintendo fan but i can't really see how nintendo consoles can flop..... Honestly i think these news don't necessarily mean anything, even thou i can't really see the potential of the console at this point i'm sure nintendo will find a way to sell millions once again, gamers are less predictable than stock values ;)

Not to be that guy, but I'm sure people said the same of Sega before they got owned.

Isn't Crisis Core FFVII technically FFVII-2?Black_Knight_00
It's played out. Make a HD remake of FF6 or FF8 and I'll be interested. This isn't to say I wouldn't play it, but I really want to see something be done with those two.

If you were to take a time machine and ask me this, I would say yugi. I played both back then, but I liked yugi a lot more. The thing I hated about magic is that it seem like it had 50,000 rules and exceptions for almost everything. This isn't to say I'm bad at a strategy games, but I had better things to do than get pro at magic back in the day lol.

If it's like the other RPGs that I've played with multiple endings, it won't be one decision or one point that determines the ending. Rather, it will be a culmination of specific decisions that you make to get a certain ending. Best bet is just to replay it over and approach the game by different means. There's always the youtube method though.

Nintendo stocks have been falling all year, it's not like they were doing great and only suddenly dropped after the WiiU announcement. The falling stock prices are much more likely due to falling Wii sales combined with the 3DS underperforming so far.

Now when you factor in that Nintendo is announcing a new console for next year any investor with half a brain could tell you to expect Wii sales to continue to drop as people decide to hold out for the next gen WiiU. Combine that with the uncertainty with Nintendo withholding specs and pricing info and it all makes perfect sense. The current stock prices have very little to do with what how investors think the WiiU will perform in the long term and more to do with how its announcement will affect Wii sales in the next few months.

If we had a rep system, I would rep you. You explained the situation better than I did.

[QUOTE="shockwave04"]This is the time to buy then. We saw what happened with the Wii ;)forgot_it
Definitely. It's a known fact that if a console is a success then its successor will be an even bigger success!

By that logic the PS3 would be ruling the world and then some, because the PS2 was a smashing success. Don't look too much into stocks treading downwards on teh Wii-U. Stocks go downward on negative info or if there's uncertainty. I think this temporary dip is just a reflection of the latter and not the former. Investors are not sure what Nintendo's real strategy is with the WiiU yet, just like a lot of people out there.

[QUOTE="DJ_Headshot"]Yeah but it would make it a $250 accessory to a console i doubt you will see much support at all in games to utilize it the same way the WiiU controller which will be included with the system. The psv will almost certainly have remote play where you play ps3 games on the psv as that was already on the psp for certian ps3 games.jsh020
the esitimated price for the wii u 9s 500$, ts more expensive then buying a ngp and ps3 together

Nintendo won't price it that high. If they do, the console is guaranteed to flop. Look for a price point around $300-$350. This might be the first console where they might have to sell it for a loss or at least have very low profit margins for a while. The sweetspot is actually the same price as the vita, so that can't be ruled out either. But again, will Nintendo actually be willing to take such a hit? We shall see.
