Level 5 or Mistwalker (Where some SE people went ie: Sakaguchi)

If SE was going to croak, I would prefer KH be handled by a Japanese RPG developer that knows what they're doing. Level 5 and Mistwalker are the only two that I can think of. I'd throw in Namco Bandai, but they have garnered nothing but ire from me lately.

Considering I live literary right next door to a gamestop and a local gamestore, I have no reason to buy games online usually.

That isn't exactly Nintendo's style but hey, the idea and concept for Pandowa's Tower (eating the flesh and heart of a monster you just killed to stop/ slow down a curse) seem quite mature to me.

I belive you will see a few rated M games from Nintendo (first party games) on the Wii U simply because it will be more powerful and Nintendo want's to show people that they are capable of really Mature games. Though I doubt we will get many from them for the Wii U.

I'm almost cetain that we will get absolutly 0 rated M games on the Wii in it's last year.

Your're being overly optimistic. You can make a more "mature" game w/o awesome hardware. The problem with Nintendo is that they choose not to make more "mature" IPs as that generally has not been their style over the years. And no offense, but as long as Miyamoto is there, I don't see Nintendo making a new IP that is solely geared towards an older audience. Doing so would dilute what a FP nitendo game has traditional meant. I'm willing to eat my crow if they decide to go this route though. I honestly don't see it though.

I hope that if they remake FF7, they'll actually make it a good game this time. I really wanted to like FF7 but after disc 1, playing it felt like I was punishing myself for no good reason. Cloud in a wheelchair + a poorly-handled amnesia plot device + Sephiroth not accomplishing his goal like Kefka did = a very lackluster 2nd and 3rd disc.

I never really understood the praise for VI.

I'm playing it for the first time right now, and sometimes I go weeks without playing it.

It really doesn't grab me or have an impact on me so far.

Many of the characters I don't like.

I agree actually. I didn't care for the characters either, and I too found the game pretty slow intially. But as I chugged into the later part of the game, I honestly couldn't stop playing it. Plot wise, I got to say FF6 has the better plot than ff7, it just takes forever to get to interesting.

Nope, it will be up to third parties. This is why I keep saying it's up to third parties to sell the system to hardcore audience via exclusives, because Nintendo can't do it with its lineup. Multiplats will be pretty irrelveant to bringing new people into the fold.

Fanboys always existed. I too remember back in middle school my friends were mostly Nintendo fanboys. Me, I mostly played sega stuff, but I had some Nintendo stuff as well. Anyway, they went ape when I told them I wasn't getting a N64, because at that time I was still playing on a SNES and a Genesis... I really wanted to try a PlayStation, and it honestly was a decision I haven't regretted. Think about it this way OP, you got some gamers who can only afford one console at a time or only have access to one at a time. As a result, that's all they know. Thus, a fanboy or fangirl is born, and brand loyalty is created.

Nintendo focuses on making profitable consoles and it is no different here. Its actually a stragety Microsoft and Sony should consider because it could keep them afloat longer.

Its going to be profitable because HD tech is now cheaper to manufacture.

quickposter

Reason why MS and Sony don't adopt the strategy is two fold: 1. They make money elsewhere, so they can absorb short-losses for investments in the gaming sector. Nintendo doesn't have this luxury. 2.By accepting losses, Sony and MS can put more technology into system than if they were going for profit out of the gate. This is the main reason why Nintendo systems are usually underpowered compared to their counterparts. With that said, don't expect the Wii-U to surpass either console in terms of graphics. If Nintendo is still going for profit here, the best they could do is be on equal footing, as the cost for those parts aren't the same as they once were back then.

[QUOTE="Gamerunified"]Wii u was Showed with Wii graphics, plz, Nintendo again, just putting all their money on a controller, and forgetting about Graphics. Nintendo can't keep up with MS and Sony, they just dont have that much money to support a good console all around. Wii U already Failed and it will b the last console Nintendo will make,. MARK MY WORDS.Sgt_Crow
Not trying to make you cry, but Sony is the one bleeding money. Nintendo is printing the greens.

Incorrect. The PS3 is profitable now and the PSP has been profitable for a while now. Anyway, this topic is silly. I don't think the Wii-U will fail. Now, it does have its work cut out for it I think, but I don't think it will be a failure. It will at least get eaten up by Nintendo diehards and casuals that got tired of their Wiis and/or Kinects. The hardcore audience remains a question mark.

Developers try other's peoples stuff all the time. Game developers at their heart are still gamers, if they weren't they wouldn't be in the business of making games. It's naive to think they only play their own games. I mean would you really want to only play the stuff you work on? Not really. Got to keep things fresh : p

High development costs scaring devs away from making new IPs and trying out new ideasMeteorStream
No the little guys are just going to the handhelds and the online shops instead. The drawback to this though is that you don't get as much exposure as if you made a blockbuster on a console. In addition to that, you also have to settle for lower profit. Having said that, it's been my obseration that innovation is still happening on these platforms, but as I said they get overshodowed by the blockbusters.
