I always find games for 50 or less, even brand new. Just shop online and you always find ways to save. But no, I never feel like that when I buy a game. I research games before I buy them so I know I'm making a good choice. And gaming is my only real habit. I'm really cheap in almost every other aspect of my life, and it works out fine.

[QUOTE="bluem00se"]I believe it's been getting mostly mid to high 8's. Since when was that "average"? Generally, game reviews consider 7 average. 8 is good, 8.5 to 9.0 is very good, 9.0 - 9.5 is exceptionally good, and above that is stellar/ nearly flawless. Borderlands sounds great. IGN's 8.8 review told me exactly what I expected to hear: weak story, but lots of crazy gunplay lined with Diablo style loot-RPG elements and 4-player co-op. Except I predicted an 8.9. I'll be getting it for sure.KC_Hokie
It sounds like a weak story and A.I. will keep if from from getting anything more than very good reviews.

Probably true, but I was expecting it. Reading previews on the game convinced me that the story would not be one of it's selling points. But then again, a lot of games these days skimp on the story, especially western games, shooters, and most especially western shooters and rpgs. Only a handful of titles this generation have had great stories IMO, and most of them were PS3 exclusives: off the top of my head... MGS4, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 1 -2, Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Lost Odyssey. Most games this gen have had 'meh' stories or sometimes slightly above average stories but redemption in other categories.

Bioshock. Then again, I never played Bad Company, only a little bit of it, but based on what I've heard, it's a pretty good modern day war-style fps. There are plenty of better FPS's on the market. Bioshock, on the other hand, is like nothing else this generation. It has a great story, extremely immersive gameplay, eerie atmosphere, and much more. It's one of my top games this generation. Definitely in my top 10 this gen.

None. I do plenty of research before I make a purchase. Haven't bought a bad game in a long time.

This is not an "it all depends what yo want" question. If you have to choose, get Uncharted 2. If you want Borderlands, still get Uncharted 2. It has gotten such high reviews from so many sites and magazines for a reason. It blew me away, and I'm already 99% certain it will be my GOTY, even though there are still several heavy hitters coming out this year. Borderlands does look fun though, and I plan on picking it up in the near future. But if you're looking for an online shooter, realize that Uncharted 2's multiplayer is great. Just great. Which is a bit of a letdown, because the campaign is beyond that; it's stellar. It feels like you're playing a movie. It's one of the few Western developed games that actually made me fully involved in the story and the characters and care a lot about what happened to them. Usually, Western games fail at that, and only Japanese games captivate me on that level. This is all opinion, of course. If you really want Borderlands more go for it :P

Yes. It being a Bioware game alone is getting me pumped for this game. After seeing how the console gameplay works, I'm extremely excited for this game. Day 1 purchase for sure.

Campaign co-op is always a nice addition but honestly I can see why they left it out. Uncharted 2 is such a cinematic and immersive game that co-op could kill it. Any form of multiplayer kills in some form the immersion you're supposed to feel from a sp experience. Of course, it would have been a nice feature, but I'm not too disappointed. Uncharted 2 is almost certainly going to be my personal GOTY. My only gripe with the game is that there are no custom soundtracks (which I would use only for online competitive mode, of course)

I don't feel cheated and I don't think anyone should, unless they bought a PS3 like a day before the price drop (though they should have known it was coming, there are always leaks and rumors when it comes to Playstation). People who got it at a cheaper price had to wait longer to get in on the action, so it evens out.
