I really hope we see something soon. I really want a proper next gen 3rd installment of the series. Portable spinoffs are good but they're never as good as having a full on sequel on more advanced hardware.
I believe IGN interviewed them about this. God of War 1 and 2 were made in very high resolutions, which makes it easier to port to HD. Also, the coders coded the game in such a way that it was very easy to upgrade to PS3. The PSP version, however, is a lot more compressed. It was made in a much lower resolution, just high enough for the PSP's screen. So it would look terrible on the PS3. Unfortunate yes, but GoW 1 and 2 are more essential and better overall anyways.
A solid release date for this year is a promising sign that the US version will release within the first half of next year. Still, it is tempting to import, even though I'd probably get it again when the US version comes out...
The ODST MP Disc IS Halo 3 MP, just with all the maps. Think of the MP disc of ODST as the original Halo 3 disc minus the campaign, and plus every single Halo 3 map
MGS4 is the best PS3 game IMO. The only other PS3 game that comes close to MGS4's level of perfection is Valkyria Chronicles. Consequently, those 2 games are in my top 10 games of all time, MGS4 being in my top 3.
[QUOTE="Symphonycometh"]I'm liking the elitism bull spat by those on this thread that see nothing but godly things about the 360 getting the game. I think I'll kill the thread now and just say this: If you can't see contradiction in Enix logic as well as see that in some way or not, the PS3 version has been affected, then I hope you enjoy it up there in elitism land where: "Sharing games with other consoles = who cares about the cons." Look at the other side for once instead of having one narrow-minded perspective peeps. Each console has it's pros and cons. What is the point of owning multiple consoles if they all have the same games that all run exactly the same? The PS3 has its strengths and the 360 has its strengths. It's just frustrating because Microsoft has screwed over the PS3 countless times, and one of Son'y biggest trump cards was not only stolen by MS but dumbed down. It makes no sense. 360 owners can have their FF13. But the PS3 version should be better because it was originally supposed to look a lot better, and in fact, the earlier PS3 only screens did look better.
Yes, I probably would. After the big God of War Collection announcement last week though I would rather see my most favorite PS2 games brought to the PS3 in the same vein as GoW 1 and 2 than see a b/c update. I'd rather play FFX, XII, MGS1-3, Kingdom Hearts 1-2, and more in 720p with trophies than play my entire PS2 collection on my PS3 with no new features. And yes, I would be willing to re-buy all those games if PS3 compatible versions of them were made.
Yes, I am. FF13 should never have gone to 360. The graphics have gotten worse, the Japanese audio track probably won't be in either version, the PS3 version will be just as compressed as the 360 one, and many more things I am sure are being compromised. Many PS3 owners bought a PS3 for FF13. The stupidest part is that Square is choosing to make these compromises so that 360 and PS3 users have 'the same experience'. That is BS. That's like not allowing a PC version of a game to look any better than its console counterpart. Makes no sense.
Achievements aren't a sign of how 'hardcore' of a gamer you are. to some people (like me), achievements are just really fun to get. Others could care less about them. As long as you enjoy the game, that's what matters
