If you lost interest in Eternal Sonata then you may struggle with Lost Odyssey (way, way better than Last Remnant... which was garbage).

The first disk is soooooooooo slow.

TTDog
The first disc may be a bit slow but it really sets the stage for the story. Also the ending to the first disc is really (without giving anything away)... emotional.

MGS4 isn't possible on the 360. At least to the quality it was produced on the PS3. It would have to be toned down, or spread across several discs, or both. I highly doubt this. The only MGS to come to the Xbox was MGS2, and it sucked. It was meant to be a Playstation series, as expressed many times by Kojima. And no, I am not a PS3 fanboy, obviously, as I have both a 360 and a PS3. But each system deserves to have its own exclusives. If everything is made multiplatform, where is the competition between the 360 and PS3? Lack of competition hurts developers and consumers..

Lost Odyssey. I haven't played The Last Remnant but apparently it wasn't very good... Lost Odyssey is underrated. The gameplay is fairly traditional, but the ring system keeps it fresh and exciting. The story is great. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's one of the top 5 greatest stories told in a game, but it is possibly the best story told on the 360. The dream sequences are possibly the best part of the game. It sounds weird to say that, becuase all they are are text, on screen over ambient backgrounds, with music changing with the mood of the story being told. Once you experience these dreams, you will see why they are so great. I highly recommend LO.

Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect were probably the only 360 games I've played with truly immersive, gripping stories. Oh, and Eternal Sonata had a good one, but I found it hard to get into. Bioshock is really deep too. Had a solid story with really strong themes behind it.

I recommend you begin to visit "bargain forum" sites like cheapassgamer.com. Basically a forum dedicated to people posting the best online and/or in-store deals they find on games. I must have saved close to $100 if not more since I began to go on the site late last year.

Final Fantasy

Metal Gear Solid

God of War

Halo

...Resistance? I have lots of other favorite games but not many have enough in a series for me to call them franchises...

I haven't been extremely excited for a game since Metal Gear Solid 4. Before that, Halo 3. I have been excited for more recent games, such as Gears 2, Killzone 2, and Fable 2, but not to the same level I felt with Halo 3 or MGS4. I am extremely excited for Final Fantasy XIII, however, and cannot wait for its release. It's probably my most anticipated game of this console generation.
