@huyi12: Razer, who owns Ouya who footed the bill for most of this game, is doing just that on their online store. So there's that.
But, seeing as the developers were the parents of the boy this game is about (you literally play as the father), I have no issues with them being paid for this. And at $15, it's not like anyone is going to be riding the pity train to the bank.
@luniac: Ha. That didn't even make sense. I've never seen choose your own adventure books locked away in a shed across the street fro mBarnes and Noble because "they're not really ur regular type book". Hell, they're usually not even in their own designated section. They're just... with the other books. Because they're books, even if they aren't the books you read.
And as hilarious a site name as "Gamespot: For the more TRADITIONAL Game" is, that's not the name of this site. It's Gamespot. Cuz it's a spot... for games. No caveats. If there was ever a spot for a game like this, a site literally called Gamespot would be it.
This entire argument, every time it comes up, is as ridiculous as refusing to call a banana a fruit because you really just prefer oranges so much more.
The term "video game" is a pretty stupid term, all around. But that's what we call these things. This game, like every other game, is still a video game. Your opinion about or interest in it has absolutely no importance to that title.
How the idea of an experience that is different than what we normally see is somehow threatening to people is beyond my understanding. This takes nothing away from the games you enjoy. Don't try to take this from others.
@Bread_or_Decide: If that is truly your outlook on loss, healing, and art, and not just you trolling, it has genuinely saddened me, and I wish you the best.
@Bread_or_Decide: This game is a family processing the loss of their son. They are sharing it with others to work through it themselves, and possibly to help others in similar situations. The money they make is going back to help families going through similar situations.
That may very well be something you don't want to experience. But yeah. I'd say a few more games like this wouldn't hurt.
You seem... threatened... by this game. Which is really weird. Nobody is telling you to like it or play it. People don't need your approval to experience this game and take something meaningful and worthwhile from it. No one is shoving this game in your face. You chose to be here. If you don't like it, that's on you.
And before you complain again about this not being a "game", it's not this game's fault that we gave "video games" a stupid name 40 years ago. It is what it is.
@BeefoTheBold: This is just one part of the enhanced edition. Last week they released a video that (briefly) listed a bigger list of the things they are updating. From the looks of it, it's a pretty significant update.
