I've heard of "Sword of Truth." Bad things, mainly. I've heard that it's an objectivist tract even more ham-handed than Ayn Rand, that it's extremely preachy, that the author has a massive ego, and that the fandom between it and A Song of Ice and Fire absolutely hate each other.

Theokhoth

Don't forget the massive, eloquently described amounts of S&M.

Its not that bad nor is it frequent:roll:

The Red Wall series is fantastic. I would put Tolkien novels as the best but they don't count as a series I think.

Trinners

Redwall was by far my favorite series as a kid; I've seen Brian Jacques twice at readings (once a year or two back when I was 17 or 18 lol :P:oops: ). It was so much better than Harry Potter in every way. Cloony the Scourge, Martin the Warrior, Badrang, Basil Stag Hare and all those other characters (across different novels) owned every character in Harry Potter easily.

I loved the hares in those novels. :D

I say ol' bean, wot wot!

Agreed, Redwall > Harry Potter. Jacques actually put the time and effort into making a constructed setting and world for the novels to take place in like tolkien. And the hares and badgers were BA.

Yeah, I've read them aswell... well most of them.

I didn't think it was preachy at all, the author might but it's not as if it shows in the books.

i used to like the series, but it drags out over about 14 books that are 500+ pages each.

Dman0017

Well its actually like 8 books of 750+ pages each but i think they are the best

Never heard of "The Sword of Truth"... Anyway, if you like fantasy, try A Song of Ice and Fire (series), by George R. R. Martin. Also, if you haven't read it, read Lord of the Rings, right now. :Pchessmaster1989
Not heard of it... wow, You should really try it, written by Terry Goodkind. I'll keep an eye out for A Song of Ice and Fire, and of course i've read LotR... hasn't everyone?

A couple of days ago I finished reading "The Sword Of Truth" Series, ever since then I haven't been able to concentrate or read another book, because I can't get the others out of my mind:? I don't know if this is a good thing or not. They are seriously the best books EVER!!! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Any other fans of "The Sword of truth" series please post for I would love to have many conversations with people who think the same.

Also If anyone has any recommendations for me please post aswell. Must be Fantasy books thanks!;)
