I am in an interesting situation...I recently bought an HT Omega Claro Halo sound card to go with ATH A700s. The volume is out of control. At about 16% it is very loud. About 15 minutes ago I put the volume to 26% for just a second...it made my whole body clench up and my left ear is still hurting. I am afraid I am going to accidently increase the volume to too high of a number and blow out my ear drums. Honestly, I think it could do this at 35%...never mind 100%. Anyway, is anyone familiar with the software of this sound card? Is there any way to lower the volume scale? Or could I do this in Windows?

I have Windows 7 so that is the version of the software I installed for the sound card. Also, I have the amp set for high impedence and have the virtual 7.1 speaker mode turned on which increases the volume level (I want to keep this though since it seems to sound better).

This is also annoying because changes of 1% level of volume impact the sound level significantly.

I don't have overly sensitive ears either...

Thanks for any help.

Perhas a Dell Inspiron would suite you. Of course, they are not meant for games. Also, I don't believe they have HDMI.

Why not try contacting XFX and see if they will send you one?

You may need to uninstall one of the 5870 drivers. I forget which driver gave me an issue but I had this same problem after I installed all the drivers for my 5850. I uninstalled one of them (it was the last one on the page at the time) and that solved the problem.

Based on the OP's name I don't think he is a kid as has been suggested, at least I hope he is not. No child should support any politician because, unless they are very intelligent (which I am inclined to think the OP is not), they have no basis for their political affiliation. If he is an adult then this must be rather embarrasing. Granted, I am sure many adults do not even know what a CPU is. Nevertheless, it must suck to be an adult and post something on a forum of which the readers of the forum think it to be so unintelligent that they joke, laugh out loud, and presume that the OP is a child. I think this might be a political rant more than anything.

No, never. They've decided to stop making them.

You say this as if it's an impossibility.

Done. Although I doubt gamespot PC users are that bothered about being energy efficient.

I agree. This will be biased sample data, as most online questionares are. Unless you posted this on a random sample of forums? Although, then you will run into problems of relavence of the questionare to what the forum is and I suspect that will not go over well.

If you put 20,000 of that money in some sort of saving account or CD you can have it build up over the years and by the time you need to retire you will have a lot more money.

Although since you come from a rich family I guess that won't matter much.

I was lucky to get a few dollars of allowance a weak as a kid.

I would mow lawns and deliver the newspaper to get money.

At least I know the value of money and a hard days work....

I would have a heart attack if someone gave me 25,000USD.

Don't be too melodramatic. There is always someone poorer than you to no fault of their own. Seriously though, this is hard to believe.
