The New Year is here and so i the Gamer Shark Review for Friday December 31, 2010. For this installment, I will be reviewing EPIC MICKEY for the Nintendo Wii. Epic Mickey is set in the Disney universe in which Mickey Mouse lives. After passing through a magic mirror in his home, Mickey comes across a magic paint brush that was left by a wizard in front of a seemingly harmless painting. Mickey then decides to do a little editing to the painting. Not knowing what he had done Mickey unleashes an evil ink blot onto the world on the painting. Mickey then flees in fear back to his home. Mickey spends several days oblivious to what he had done until the Ink Blot returned for him. After being dragged into the WASTELAND, Mickey must use the power of paint and paint thinner to battle enemies either by turning them to his side or eliminating them completely. Aside from the great story, the controls for this game are the best on the Wii. You must simply point your remote at the screen and fire your paint or thinner. The environment of the Wasteland is both familiar to Disney fans and eerie in the dark and somber appearance. Aside from being rather creepy, the graphics are done beautifully with bright and detailed worlds and characters. Overall, EPIC MICKEY is an amazing game that has both an engrossing story and simple yet responsive gameplay all pulled together by a world that will bring you back again and again both in nostalgia and by just being nice to look at.
