@Gelugon_baat: I think I was talking about the Kill your friends mode. I saw the option in the initial menu and supposed it was working since it enables you to select your friends. But I never tried it myself.

Looking it up now, I don't think there will ever be ranked matches with friends. First, because communication between players breaks the game's balance. Second because other survivors are not necessarily your friends. Some of them will wait for you to get caught to start fixing generators and others are going to lead the killer to your location so that the killer chases you instead of them.

In my opinion the game is supposed to be played with strangers but as you said devs are working on something because people expected to play with friends.

I think the game deserved a better score, it is awesome for it's price. And the reviewer considered the lack of matchmaking with friends, a feature that is now implemented and would surely be present in a game like this.

Maybe I'm a noob but I don't know about exploiting the killer's slow movement. Once he starts giving chase it is not easy to escape and the obstacles can only get you so far.

@kazeswen: Sorry but DS is hard mostly because you need impecable timing. If you roll or try a parry a milisecond later you are screwed.

Saying the game is easier if you boost stats means nothing because it nullifies these game mechanics. If you can be hit more times there is no need for rolling or trying a riposte. It is simply not the same game anymore.

So yes, DS is hard by design.

Bought the game today. lol at multitude of layers and shapeshifting organism....

It's indeed a fun game with good production values, as expected. But don't be fooled, it's just a Blizzard Team Fortress. There isn't a single original thing in this game worthy of mention that isn't already in some other MOBA/MMO.

@louixiii: Let me clear it up then. Platformers and shoot em ups looked better on consoles. All other genres (FPS, adventure, RPG, racing, simulation, RTS and whatever you may think of) looked better on PC. Oh, and there were platformers that looked far better on PC, like Prince of Persia.

@louixiii: Sorry but it's not true consoles had better graphics at the time. I owned a Sega Genesis and a friend of mine had a powerful PC and what I can tell is that primarily console games like platformers and shoot em ups indeed looked better on consoles because they were enginnered for those types of games (parallax scrolling and such techniques).

On the other hand PC had already 3d games based on polygons like Ultima Underworld and Stunts, which would only be possible on the next generation of consoles. The SNES had Starfox which used very rudimentary polygon graphics based on scaling and rotation but it wasn't nowhere near a real 3d game. PC also could show millions of colors on screen and much higher resolution while the Genesis had 64 and SNES 512 colors at a time.

Each platform had it's strengths but I wouldn't say consoles had better graphics.

@Conner_Macleod: Wow, huge difference. Planetside 2 had one time more than 1600 players in one single battle.

Not that I still play it, but I wouldn't touch another game that simulates a large scale war with only 32 opponents.
