@JayQproductions @brunorr I really hoped nobody would buy if the rumors are true but sadly it is not the case. There are too many factors involved, for example if MS pull off a superior launch with better exclusives or hardware many people will flock to their system regardless.
And sorry, but you don't know. Nobody knows but MS.
@JayQproductions @brunorr That's what you hope bro but all the rumors are pointing the always online way. I just explained how it is not a comercial suicide as many people think.
@JayQproductions @SIDEFX1 Can you imagine MS' profit from the sale of only new games? That will surely make up for selling less consoles. It's not dumb at all, it's just a big F U to gamers. #DEALWITHIT
@BloodMist Well, I was referring specifically to this new 3DS Zelda game my friend, not the whole Zelda franchise. Think a little before calling people idiots. And if you think my comments are unbelievably off the mark, feel free to refute them, the comments section exists for this reason.
And now that you said it, I feel even Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess are stuck in the Ocarina of Time formula.
There is nothing wrong about new games from old franchises. The problem is when you keep the same mechanics from a 20 year old game. From my point of view, this new Zelda is a SNES game the only difference being some 3d gimmicks. Nintendo does that because production costs are so high they ask themselves why make a costly Wii U game when they can save money and profit more by making a simpler 3DS game.
Games have evolved and the japanese studios are having a tough time to adapt. I personally don't like this 90's revival in portable consoles, but if the japanese market is buying, they are selling.
This is a bold strategy by Microsoft. Even though it sells less than the PS4, a lot of MS drones will still buy the console so MS can make equal or more money by selling only original games and lose less on console sales at launch, since they usually sell it cheaper than the production cost.
The question is if blocking used games is profitable enough to make up for being a less popular console. Maybe they are too confident on their marketing and exclusive games.
