Lower resolutions, your GPU starts to become a bottleneck at high resolutions and filters. (AA/AF)Jamiemydearx3

I dont understand what you are trying to say..

From what I understand I would start to bottleneck more at lower resolutions than higher because...

Where would my Pentium d 3.00Ghz and HD4850 botteneck more? Higher resolutions like 1600x1200 or lower resolutions.

Oh and one other question: My Pc is an Hp and I have been able to overclock this CPU from 2.8 to 3.0 via clockgen because I am not allowed via the BIOS. If I buy lets say an MSI motherboard should I be able to overclock higher than 3016.86Mhz?

I currently have a Pentium D 2.8 Ghz on an Asus Lithium. The only problem is that its on an HP m7250n whose BIOS is locked.

I have been able to overclock it to 3022.86MHz inside windows through clockgen.

Now unlike most of you with your superclocked quad-cores and what not Im poor and cant affor a whole new set up. And this asus wont let me install a new processor even though it should. The best I can do is install the 965 at 3.6Ghz but its still a pentium D and besides being quite expensive it is hard to find.

Now would installing a new motherboard allow me to overclock my CPU even more though the BIOS?

I am currently reading a guide on RAM timings because I want to lower the timings on my RAM when I came to something very interisting.

For example a DDR500/PC4000 is guaranteed to run at 500MHz with a trasnfer rate of 4000 MB/s. So wouldnt it be pointless to get a 512MB instead of 256MB if in the end they are both only going to be able to give the CPU 4000MB every second so the size really wont make a difference. I know I have to be wrong so could someone please explain this to me.

Its a great card and will run anything you throw at it as long as you system is good enough for that card.

Okay so Im a gamer on a low budget. Very low indeed after buying a 4850.

I currently have 2 options for a monitor:

A sony LCD running at 1280x1024 or an IBM flat panel CRT running at 1600x1200 at 75Mhz.

Which one shouldI get?
